I approve of this message. Not sure the person in the foreground is a fan though?
She's pondering where her youth went.

Rooftop Concept
Concepting a rooftop pool area for a spa facility.
Rendered with Thea Render and filtered thru Fotosketcher.
Used Vintage filter and then merged with original image.
Kinda like the painterly feel.

RE: Man
If you uncheck edges and profiles in the styles dialog box and uncheck the cast shadows in the entity info dialog box after you select the "man" these are the results.
Not sure if this is what you are after.

RE: Rendering 2d people w/toon material question
What rendering engine are you using?
I use Thearender and it allows for the lines from Sketchup to merge with the rendering. There are times I only want the lines for certain elements, so I composite different renderings in a photo editor to get the results I'm looking for.

After reading this thread, I tried to see if I would have the same issues.
Currently, the program is behaving as expected.
SU 21.1.299 64 bit
Windows 10 latest updatesStart Paint command, single Alt press to sample some material; Now, change your mind and try to sample another material (pressing single Alt without orbiting)- you won't be able to do that (to chose another mat).
I tried this and it did glitch once, but all other times (half a dozen)in 2021 the tool seems to be working normal

RE: What's this way of texturing called and how to learn it ?
I believe you want to look into UV mapping.
Rich O'Brien has a plugin called WrapR to handle texture mapping.
UV Mapping for SketchUp
WrapR for SketchUp is a UV mapping extension for SketchUp models

...thanks a lot to all - the image details on the right in the collage above are the used raw image data which together resulted in the finished image within Photoshop. This small simple tree is from the 3D Warehouse and distributed with Chris Fullmers random rotate and scale plugin.

Exactly about this tree another 3DWH user complained there in the comments quite unreasonable as I think...I went to the warehouse and downloaded the model. Also, left a comment "something to the effect" that you did an excellent job of using a simple model.
I did see for myself the rude comments. Uncalled for - IMHO

I like your trees in the model

We've reproduced this with 2019 and 2020 and are opening a bug.
Thank you for looking into this. It's caused me some grief

RE: SketchUp 2020 always thinks there is a newer recovered file.
I'm experiencing the same issue.
As far as I know, I'm not saving to the cloud. I'm saving either to my local machine or to the network server.

RE: Clipping Plane Plugin
@dave r said:
Yes. I found that works. I was just advising that one shouldn't just set a very small Near value and expect it to work for all camera positions.

RE: Clipping Plane Plugin
@dave r said:
Be aware that if you set the Near value too low you can create other problems. You might end up with something like this:
<!-- ia1 -->Screenshot - 2_24_2020 , 8_17_37 AM.png<!-- ia1 -->[/attachment:2ofksyrr]Instead of this:
<!-- ia0 -->Screenshot - 2_24_2020 , 8_17_54 AM.png<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:2ofksyrr]Using Pixero's solution, if the z fighting effect happens, uncheck the "force" box and zoom out. The camera near distance resets and the z fighting effect should disappear.

I've made a plugin that opens the advanced camera settings window on rightclick if you want to adjust clipping plane manually.
