RE: Various Ceiling Lights
The wires...

Pretty basic stuff tbh. It was more the materials doing the heavy lifting and a nice studio HDR

RE: Select groups/components with selected materials
Vibe-coding as you iterate through ideas. It's interesting little tool. Nice job to you both

If you use a more conventional extension setup the Plugins folder root .rb file would have something like this...
require 'sketchup.rb' require 'extensions.rb' module JujuSKP module JujuSKP_SelectByMaterial unless file_loaded?(__FILE__) ex = SketchupExtension.new('Select By Material', 'JujuSKP_SelectByMaterial/main.rb') ex.description = 'Your description' ex.version = '1.0' ex.copyright = 'JujuSKP Β© 2025' ex.creator = 'JujuSKP' Sketchup.register_extension(ex, true) file_loaded(__FILE__) end end # module JujuSKP end # module JujuSKP_SelectByMaterialPoke around your own plugins folder too see how others a packing extensions.

RE: [Plugin] MaterialFinder6
Why searching isn't native I don't know. But this is a huge timesaver.
I don't even need to have them as libraries in SketchUp to search them now. I can just pull them in using this.
My wishlist item would be thumbnails but its not a dealbreaker. Great tool as is. So fast too!

RE: Upgrading Fredo6 Library caused Sketchup to be Quarantined by Sentinel One
Sounds like an overly strict policy. I'd ask the IT person to relax their policy.

RE: House Practice
It's a real shame TwiLight isn't still developed. It is such a robust rendering engine.
Nice render. Maybe some nice texturing or bump on the fascia/soffit would help break up the uniform appearance.

RE: Payment Rejected
The problem you are encountering is with the payment processors. That could be related to any number of issues outside of our control.
Both PayPal and Stripe are well known and secure methods to accept payments online.
PayPal are declining your card did you contact them?

RE: Another Machinist's Model of a Steam Engine.
I love seeing raw engineering. These days they spend more time compressing it into smaller spaces and then concealing it.
These older designs were purer and showcased the use.
Great modelling too.

RE: Toposhaper Issue
Sometimes sharing the file will help yield more concise info on what the issue could be.

RE: Orgelf's works. second topic.
Love that! Especially the raw SU output. Renders are slick too.

RE: Fold objects together or snap faces?
Did you try SketchUp's native Snap points?
Snaps
A Snap is a custom point you can add to a group or component. Once added, a Snap allows you to both position and orient objects at the same time. Snaps can help you create models with components that are easy to place, layout, or assemble. The Anatomy of a SnapSnaps appear as a disk. The disk contains visual cues that help explain how the snap will work.

Yay! Great update Thomas

RE: 1921 Home
@Gus-R That first shot is a winner for me. Especially the transition from shaded area. Cinematic vibes

RE: Struggling to fit a texture to individual faces
Try Skimp to import as its importers are better than the native I find.
Or Sam's Universal Importer: https://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=universal_importer
