Ok so this is the type of image Hypershot uses. Again the question I think is how to take the photograph..

It depends on what it is you want to make. I believe what you are looking for is a way to make global environments. An HDRI is a different animal altogether but it can be used as a global environment in .hdr form. Bear in mind that all .hdr files do not have a dynamic range...in fact most are just fakes...or just straight .jpgs converted to the .hdr format.
Aha, Thanks for clearing that up. Indeed a global environment is what I want to make. So what is the major advantage of creating a true HDRI with 24 f-stops or whatever the number is (apart from the fact that it is a more true perception of what we see)? How significantly will it effect the final render compared to a jpeg which has simply been hdr 'faked'?
@unknownuser said:
If you are building a .hdr for hypershot then open one of their .hdrs in an hdr reader such as "HDRshop" (it's free) There you can determine it's scale and the relative position of the horizen. You can also determine the method being used to fill the global environment with the image...i.e. mirrored ball, latitude/longtitude, lightprobe.
Right, I can do that, but then again the question is how do I take the photo with my camera?
@unknownuser said:
Once you have constructed the HDRI you can shape it based on the panoramic method used by your renderer.
How does one 'shape it'?

I have been thinking about putting a tutorial together. I need to look closer at the various render's specs for inserting globals so I can make the tutorial more universal...cheers!!
That would be amazing and highly appreciated but I also understand how time consuming that may be for you. Anyway thanks very much for the lengthy reply modelhead

Hey Prince, check out this for HDR creation and manipulation. http://www.mediachance.com/hdri/index.html I've been using this a lot lately and just love it. For $55, you can't beat it.
Thanks Earthmover, but lets say I want a full 360 degree environment with clouds right above me and grass right below my feet.. then what? My camera has live photo-stitching but what i've attached below is as good as i've done in terms of panorama-ing . My question is how do I take the photo

Hypershot definetly has the edge on car renders, in fact anything shiny using HDR images.
Not just shiny things in my opinion, I mightn't have many architectural examples to show (beyond what i've already posted in the gallery) but i'm confident hypershot can handle architectural scenes better than any other renderer (not including interiors that is). I think it's just a matter of mastering the app and maybe more importantly, having a huge and varied collection of suitable Hdri's at your disposal. In fact I wonder how difficult it is to make your own Hdri's... anyone know?
oh and thanks Stefan for hdr's again!

(REQ) 2D Drafting Tools

No idea if this is possible, but was wondering if it would be feasible to reduce line weight beyond what sketchup is capable of doing at the moment? (example: 'select line' -> then 'option' -> then 'reduce line weight') and,
-
A hatching tool - where for example you select a face, then press hatch and the face is hatched with dashed lines or whatever.

RE: Lada 1600
Thanks guys, yeh the ease of hdri integration is something special indeed. Easily my favourite renderer now. Here's another, a vw set in .. the early 90's? http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=4d7c382bc2b6fd3253c03b7df20edd5&prevstart=0

is it real time or some minutes for rendering?
About 5mins real time rendering with 2 cores running

Lada 1600
One of my favorite cars as i used to spend a lot of time in the post soviet republics. Rendered in Hypershot, post-processed in Picnik, model from the warehouse: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=5523a6798194043146810e868f84ab51&prevstart=12

You mean to say there is a possibility that he left the planet.
Nice render but the dog looks as if its been stuffed.Oh that's just the suit I put him in to give him a bath.. I'm sure he's still perfectly alive somewhere

Living Pod - Cushendun N.Ireland
I rarely show anything I've designed and modeled myself so here we go. A living pod I designed as a small part of my final 2nd year project. Designed as a small retreat for artists in Cushendun, Northern Ireland
(right click 'view as' to see entire image)How does the image appear to everyone btw? too dark? I'm asking cause I have an x-black lcd with double lamp, so it looks normal to me..

Sounds like some great ideas here. Would love to see these realized

RE: Hypershot Again
Great work Stefanq, the interiors are very difficult to set up, but nevertheless a very decent effort! Keep it up! and btw thank you so much for the hdr link

RE: Dirty room
The render is one thing, and it's fantastic, but the scene is another, and it has so much taste - I love it Your design?, got anymore?

RE: Roller Coaster Thrill Ride [For Solo]
Considering this is sketchup it really is cool. Thumbs up

RE: Terrain renders
Wow, alot of work but i'm sure your client will be like wtf, how did you do that..

RE: Kashino House - Tado Ando
Thanks for the advice everyone. I was using the mouse + scroll the whole time and not alt + right click drag. At the moment it's hard to get the angle I want, but I'm sure a bit of experience will sort that out. So I got into a model (was just testing the church of light) and found it extremely difficult to set up the interior - I would have already ruled interiors out if I had not seen kwistenbiebel's example above. I have a pretty good feeling that i'll still be using vray for interiors though

RE: Kashino House - Tado Ando
Thanks for the positive feedback guys. I have to say I am almost totally converted, I love this software. My only criticism is the fact that I can't seem to be able to adjust the field of view (meaning I can't get inside my models).. Maybe Kwistenbiebel might have an idea as he produced this a while ago..
Any advice appreciated!
Luckily for me the educational license is only $99 too@silver_shadow said:

I saw on Bunkspeeds website they will be releasing a new product called 'Hypermovie'.
I guess that tells us animation is coming.Yup, Hypermove - it's meant to be a dumbed down cheaper version of Hyperdrive which is marketed specifically at the motor industry. It promises to be super simple but highly professional (haven't seen any output yet though). Rumor has it Hypershot V2 may also support some sort of animation..
