Oh, and speaking of Tablet, Pilou - do you know something more about this - http://vimmi.inesc-id.pt/~tfdc/gides++/application.html ? There are no news about this one after 2005.

      Hello, LukyLuca!
By now you have probably figured it out, but there is this thread http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?p=1500042 where similar smoothing problem is discussed - unless it was you who posted it, you might have a look.

    • RE: What does your nickname mean, and why do you use it?

I actually got more than a thumb that went numb when I was suffering from repetitive strain injury, which stopped me from using my PC for a while.
At least it makes a perfect rhyme.
Not sure if I could find one for low back pain 😆
As for the avatar: I found it on the Explodingdog site http://www.explodingdog.com/
( hope it´s not copyrighted ). That funny character having hard time over some impossible shape seemed quite OK.

Mostly WW1 and WW2 aircrafts. The older the better. But it is safe to say that I am actually "recovering" them after my HD failure. 😢 So I guess that it would take some time until I recover myself and until I dare to post progress.

    • RE: Airport Design

No, I don´t think it´s confusing. I was just curious to see how it looks, and as far as I am concerned, it looks very good. I´ll be glad to help as much as I can, it´s just that I am not really into architectural visualisations (and I tend to get lost at the airports, too). 😄
      But airplanes...that´s another story.

      @pixero said:

Unity (and others) may not look as good but at least they have the possibility to make a presentation available thru a webpage or an exe that can be put on a cd.

      I couldn´t agree more.
I actually got kind of carried away discussing something that actually has more to do with game modding than with presentation itself.

Hm. Than I guess I won´t help much. But I would surely like to see some pics of that centre.
      Cheers!

There are lots of airport models on 3D warehouse, if that´s what you had in mind.

    • RE: About texturing

      Thanks for your replies, guys.
PS. I think that PixPlant comes in two flavours: as standalone app and Photpshop plugin - so I guess it could be accomplished in PS, if not in PixPlant alone.

    • About texturing

      Hello everyone!
As a newbie I am quite satisfied with my progress in modeling (which is, to be honest, still very much trial and error based), but when it comes to texturing and rendering, I fell stuck. My knowledge about texturing is limited to Paint Bucket, and maybe some editing in external applications. Recently I have discovered Pixplant, which caught my attention very quickly, due to its "highly automated with most textures created in 1-4 clicks" properties. Now I would really like to know what to do with all those normal, displacement and specular maps and 3D textures created that way and how to use them in SU if that is possible, of course.
This may sound stupid, but it surely would help me a lot.
      Thanks!

And you can also use the weld plugin http://www.cad-addict.com/2008/08/sketchup-plugins-weld.html on those segmented lines.

    • RE: Edges to faces

      Hello!
I think you can select the lower face, than hold Ctrl and Push/Pull to the upper edge.
You can also use the Line tool and draw the line on any of the upper circle segments, and the face should appear again.
