      I have way too many to list here. After watching more of Box’s videos, I think I have all of the ones he uses. However, I am not positive. I look forward to your suggestions/recommendations. πŸ˜€

      Well, I finally got things working. It took a little cleanup along the way but here is the results.

      Now off to some other bot Box's tips.................

      OK, I made sure I drew the circle on an axis (red) and then I created the arch (see image below). However, once again things are correct. If you look at the image, you will see a gap and the points where the arcs connect to the circle are not properly aligned. I do not understand what I am doing wrong.

      I used the green axis But I will try the red axis and see if it makes a difference. I will also make sure that when I draw the circle again that I follow the axis when drawing the circle. As I am typing this response, that is probably what I did wrong. Don’t give up on me. ☺️

      My guess would be your circles are not drawn on axis. Not at a computer so can't check your model.

      I thought they were. I will try agin, tomorrow I hope. 😁

      Box, I have tried many times now and I cannot get a smooth arch/connection between the two circles and therefore I am not getting a good outline for creating the model. Are there any tips you can give me for creating a connecting arch that will give me a smooth outline for creating the object in your example?

      @Dave-R I did make the adjustments you suggested and I did a better result but I am having problems based on what I have asked @Box about.

      As I have said before, I have used SU for several years now but for a very concentrated set of models and now I am trying to expand my skills and am not making very good progress.

      Apparently, I am not not drawing the arc between to circle correctly.

      Make sure you get the magenta inference. The start and end points of the arc should be in the same relative segments of the circles. Often best to use a segment Midpoint rather than an endpoint. And it needs to be at a point that will flow smoothly with the circle.

      @ntxdave said in I’ve Been β€œBoxed”:

      I have to use the TIG Weld feature to connect the lines so I can use them for the path for the Follow Me tool.

      Well yes, but all I did was triple click to select all of it as the path. Weld allows you to select it with one click.

      @ntxdave said in I’ve Been β€œBoxed”:

      I get the outline in the face and I have to go erase the outline.

      I double click on the face, which selects the face and it's edges allowing it all to delete in one go.

      Here is the file from what I did for this exercise

      Looking at your model it is clear you haven't connected the arc smoothly.
      And the circle you have in the middle of the shape is drawn Off Axis, so it will not line up correctly with the rest of the model.

      I am still having a problem with connecting the circles. Do you have a suggestion/advice about how to correctly connect the circles? How do I get a reference to the segment Midpoint?

      Thanks for the response/repoy. Hopefully I will be able to try again later today. Again, I really appreciate you giving me instructions in how to get this wright. Eventually I want to be able to draw things like the first picture in you thread. Be I need to hone my skills first. 😁

      I do have a little problem with in the videos is that he obviously enters info in the text boxes that you cannot see in the video.

      Can you link to one that you are having an issue with.

      Here is a link to the gif I have been having some problems with..

      • Apparently, I am not not drawing the arc between to circle correctly. I wind up with some connections that are not as clean as the should be. After i draw the five sides, I have to use the TIG Weld feature to connect the lines so I can use them for the path for the Follow Me tool.

      • Once I have created the design using the step above, I then cannot delete the inside faces. When I do get it to work, I get the outline in the face and I have to go erase the outline.

      • I do not have a problem with the "bottom" part of the design.

      • Then, I wanted to try something a little different from your design. I wanted to create a whole through the top item that matches the bottom part of the design. Again, I had some problems trying to cut a hole in the top part.

      All of this is my first item in your excellent set of topics. After I get some more experience, I want to learn hor to create some of the things others have posted in this thread. In particular, I would like to learn how to create something like the lamps with the items around them (do no know the correct term to use).

      Again, I want to thank you for sharing the items in your thread. They are very useful, and I want to expand my capabilities. πŸ˜€

      Their arrangement with Chaos Group for the Studio subscription makes better sense than including a full renderer in SketchUp from a development and management point of view, too.

      Can you elaborate on this a little more or tell where to look this up?

      On thing I do have a little problem with in the videos is that he obviously enters info in the text boxes that you cannot see in the video. I will continue watching and figure things out. Maybe this is what happens as we age and are away for a while. πŸ˜€

      The shadows are very interesting. Seems like there must be light coming from at least 2 directions.

      But, I really like the model and the textures. I wish I had the skills to draw something like this. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜
