      and how to make the overlay grass pic in photoshop if i do a closer view?
      (mine, the meet between black and white is straight line) can i make them grassy line?

      as soon as i read this post, i try to render a test with your setting,
      this is my setting:

      i insert the diffuse click 'm' as texNoise and insert the grass material in color A and let color B 'm' untouched,
      and the displacement map at the displacement 'm'

      do not know why the displament wont appear even i check it, all the plane are exploded,
      and where to setting scale to 0.005 btw? is it the size below colorB?
      i also change the value from 1 to 0.005 but the noise is flat and still no displacement to render.. ๐Ÿ˜ข

      btw, are these method trying to make the slope from the texNoise so the contour was random right?

      thx for all ur responses,

      no Mr.Andybot, i was had the same problem without another models attached, only a smooved plane and some case it render the displacement flat at the edge, but on random edge not all side edge (similar to the 1st pic case)

      and today i test the render using the same diffuse map and displacement map and appear another issue:

      yesterday i was using 3, and got better grass result, but today the displacement look like a slime grass, but i do the render setting identically, i dont touch anything.. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

      even the grass at the rectangle plane behind was better than yesterday, the amount i use is also 3..

      i was trying set the tile larger even smaller using texture>position but no result similar to the first day test..

      and yes, i was trying sketchup fur but for me this one is more realistic..

      the sketchup file is 51Mb, and it seems not very effective do this kind of works using sketchup, the viewport becomes very laggy and the vray render frame buffer windows appear after a 5minutes waiting time.. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

      @mr.ThomThom, i uploaded the 6Mb model sir, i got it free from 'i dont remember blog'

      the models is just amazing, but the sofas is kind of artistic sofas not an ordinary shape one.. i'm looking for a simple realistic one, but seems very hard to find it from the warehouse..

      btw, i don't know the model original material, the file contain the.mtl file but i dont know how to apply it, or the green wire was the original one?

      yes mr.TIG, fluidImporter can successfully load .obj models but it 90% will crashes if i try to render the scene using vray, ๐Ÿ˜ž

      and yes, there's a lot of text if i open the ruby console, these are the texts written:

      Hi, I want to uninstall the FluidImporter,
      but I use revoUninstaller to do the job,
      but revo is make a mistake, it even bold the vray registry to be deleted so i skip the registry deletion and i found this to verify if i can delete these 3 files:

      are those fluidimporter files? is it save if I delete them?

      coz fluidimporter is crashes with my vray so vray wont render any image from imported object..

    • V-Ray 1.49.01 rendering .obj crash?

      Hi,

      I am using Vray 1.49.01 on Su8 Pro, Win7 64bit.

      trying to import good components from .obj files using FluidImporter plugin,
      but Vray won't render the image if there's an imported .obj models..

      and vray wont crash if i do not import the .obj files before.

      Do i miss a setting on this case?
      the .obj file is aroung 6Mbs

      Hello,

      i need a help sir, the plugins wont load the .obj file,
      but at the text box bottom of sketchup it processing something but just in a second..
      my .obj file is around 6Mbs

      I am trying all the 3 methods,with textures,no material, and as mesh but no object were created, the obj_importer.rb is on the plugins folder at Google Sketchup8 directory,
      and the plugin menu is loaded at the SketchUp>Plugins..

      my OS is Windows7 Ultimate 64bit,
      my Trimble SketchUp8 ver is 8.0.16846

      on larger .obj file (76Mb) the plugin processing about 4secs but still no object were created, did I miss something to load the models?

    • Making Grass on a Contoured Plane using Displacement?

      Hi,
      I'm trying to make an area of grass on a contoured land (actually a small garden)
      I'm using a grass material as diffuse map and a displacement map,

      I made the contour from sandbox from scratch and smoove tool to make the contour,
      and UV Toolkit to fix the broken grass maps.

      but this method sometimes made a strange edge from the displacement maps:

      I thought the contour from the smoove tool was the problem,
      so i re-render it from a plane (not a plane from scratch one), this is the result:

      the flat grass still appear

      without wall, it sometimes appear too..

      just need some alternatives ways if there is a better way to do this kind of grass render..
      any suggestion?

      Hello sir,

      I am trying to create a golf course, grassy golf course..
      and I follow your instruction by creating a plane with segment using sandbox from scratch,
      remember the UV> smoove the textured plane > and restore the UV..

      I am using a displacement map and render it using vray, this is the result:

      on the left is a rectangle plane, and on the right is the smooved sandbox scratch plane,
      but seem the grass displacement had a gap (the gray coloured grass)

      can u help me how to smooth the grass placement?

      edit:
      Solved sir, Explode the grouped plane and restore the UV works fine,
      before, seems the materials not mapped correctly..

      Hello,

      I'm using windows7 64bit and sketchup8 Pro..
      I try TIG's obj importer, but it seems to be a bug,
      what i'm trying is open a new file,plugins>obj importer>import object[no materials]

      and i browse the .obj file (its 6Mb file size, and OBJ importer unit windows appear and I choose Inch but nothing seems to happen.

      at dialogue box at bottom of sketchup, its appear someking of 'processing bla2x..' but only last for a second... did i miss something on the installation method sir?

      hello, i am download many free 3d model from many blog,
      they said they have 2 version, 3d model and 3ds max version, so i download the 3d model version.
      but after i check it, the extension is .obj and what i get from 3dwarehouse is all .skp,
      and i dont know how to load the .obj in sketchup.

      are there any way to load the components to Sketchup?

      can I copy paste only the FredoTools_CurviShear.rb only to the plugins folder and erase all other plugins from the FredoTools_Dir_12 folder?

      will it load properly like the old day coz i only need the curvishear to make a ramp

      Actually you do not need LibTraductor.rb for Curviloft (it's only for backward compatibility that it is checked).

      is it sandbox from scratch?

      I would suggest you redo a clean installation and make sure you overwrite all existing files.

      Just in case, can you type in the Ruby Console and report what you get:
      Sketchup.find_support_file('LibTraductor.rb', "Plugins")

      my SU8 in plugin folder have not installed by LibFredo and curviloft before,
      so I just put all unzipped libfredo and curviloft in my plugins folder,
      after I redo to overwrite it, it result the same, it not load "lib traductor.rb

      and here is I copy paste after I enter it on ruby console:
      "Sketchup.find_support_file('LibTraductor.rb', "Plugins")
      C:/Program Files/Google/Plugins/LibTraductor.rb"

      edit: perhaps the lib traductor.rb crashes in the Google/Plugins folder?
      I copy the "Plugins" folder from my friend notebooks and place it there.
      I cut the lib traductor there and place it in SU8 plugins folder and the curviloft success to load...

      but, where can I get "lib traductor.rb", there's no in lib fredo zip and curviloft zipped file installer right?

I mean like FFD in 3ds max to create a better model for flag or blanket, curtain etc? coz scale tool is always make a same model but with diffrent size or stretch it... seems sandbox can do that kind of work but it will take much longer to draw it.. , any suggestion? ๐Ÿ˜’
