      @dave r said: I didn't remember so I had to download it again. I just called Joint Push/Pull, made sure it was set to thicken, clicked and released on the surface, moved the cursor, let go of the mouse, typed the thickness, pressed Enter. Click on the picture. [attachment=1:3hfjd8zx]<!-- ia1 -->JPP.gif<!-- ia1 -->[/attachment:3hfjd8zx] Yeah, that's kinda what I did. But it was easier to just pull from the bottom. Thanks for your help. [image: EoWw_SS.jpg]

      @dave r said: How are you installing Fredo's extensions? I have tried using both Extension Mgr and by downloading the .rbz and installing through Windows>Preferences. Either way errors on startup. I have already gone through all the possible fixes, I'm going to try to install 2018 on my workstation later to test.

      @mgfranz said: I currently run SU Pro 8, I wanted to trial run SU 2013, my OS is Win 7 64. By default my .skp files are all associated with SU 2013, but I want to change the default program to SU 8 however no matter what I try to do they always open with 2013. I have done the Open>Default Program route, I have gone through the registry and changed the default path to C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google SketchUp 8, but when I double click on a .skp file it still opens with 2013. When I right click and try to change the Open With>Browse> and select Google 8/SketchUp.exe the only option I get it 2013. So the only way I can open a .skp in SU 8 right now is to open the SU 8 program from the Desktop or Start and manually locate the file I want to open, is there a way to change the path in Win 7 or do I have to just uninstall 2013? I have faced the same problem and have also looked for a solution here before. As there was no simple fix. I uninstalled the 2013 version. Only to find out today while reinstalling SU 2013 that during installation of SU 2013 if you clear the check boxes for creating new file associations in Windows for skp files, then windows lets sketchup 8 remain as the default application for skp files. Try that, it is so far working for me. Hope it works for you as well

      Cool! I've thought about doing something similar possibly using material names to get the proper prices but I don't really need to do it so it would be more for the fun of it. Actually before I got SketchUp, I used to do some really cool things in Excel. I made a flight planning thing that had all the frequencies, elevations and other data for all the airports and navaids in Minnesota and the neighboring five states. From imported weather forecast info it would calculate great circle routes, estimated time enroute, estimated time to begin descent, fuel burn, estimated range margin and a ton of other things. It even generated the flight plan form for Flight Circus and created runway diagrams for the destination airports. Now, I draw in SketchUp and I've forgotten how to do a lot of that stuff in Excel.

      This line can be pasted into the Ruby Console. It deletes all the Proper Animation attibutes from all Component Instances. Sketchup.active_model.definitions.each{|d| d.instances.each {|i| (ad=i.attribute_dictionaries) && ad.delete("positiondata")}}

      @dave r said: By the way, Intersect does not intersect coplanar faces. It doesn't? See, I learned something else... I'm sure there are a few issues with the original drawing, I slapped it together in less than an hour without the carvings. I did take another look at the fan component and found a number of mistakes that I can correct. Playing with it now and am found a number of edges that did not line up to a plane, fixing them and I was able to get a partial intersect with the face. Half of the fans are still not intersecting which is strange since they are exact duplicates of each other...

      Solid tools are the fastest but a model that is not solid will not work, so going back to the old intersect method works.

      There are no texture generator plugins for SU. You'll need to reserve work like that for whatever renderer you work with or photoshop.

The tool Jim linked does add Top Most functionality to any window. i realise that i was just reiterating that it should be standard windows functionality. i used to use fileBOX extender [image: image009.png] added faveorites and recents too, but its no longer supported. BTW isn't there at least a switch that could be added to the program shortcut to tell it to stay on top?

      There is a "Custom Toolbars" plugin by Jim Foltz: http://sketchuptips.blogspot.com/2008/06/custom-toolbars-release-08-06-01.html Read the instructions he provides on the plugin page. A bit of a hassle to set it up at first but then you don't have to worry about them any more.
