      i dont know. the first image is very easy to achieve even in vray sketchup.. why dont you learn from the setting of the different guys here. Look for those MTM (mini the makings) download the pdf tutorials and see it for yourself. there is no quick quick stuff in learning. understand why these guys are doing them like that..

      download all the MTMs here.. http://www.sketchupvrayresources.blogspot.com

      well i have seen those mtms what i'm trying to achieve is that the fluroescent tubelights should give the same uniform light effect as that in real life. what i do to create uniformity is create a rectangular light to get that even lighting, and i just make my tubelights emissive. they dont have any lighting material[that have lumens, watts, etc.]

    • The PREVIOUS command like AutoCAD ??

      in autocad while selecting a lot of objects we often do a step that makes them deselect all. there's a command - called "PREVIOUS" which selects the previous objects. This issue also happens in sketchup but i don't know of any command like this "Previous" that selects the objects that were last selected.

      I have to select all objects once again which wastes time. is there a workaround?

      Are you talking about the manuals or the Youtube page? The Youtube page is from Chaos Group.

      yeah, i'm aware of these links, i'm asking for the pdf tutorials that you've posted. on vray manual query you said this

      @valerostudio said:

      V-ray really is not a simple rendering engine. I would say that if you can get through the PDFs I posted and all the YouTube videos that Chaos has posted, you will be in good shape. There is still a lot more to learn after that though. It's really just the tip of the iceberg. CG School has some pay videos which really explain the engine in detail. If you are looking for simple, I would suggest one of the less complicated engines such as Podium or Light Up.

    • RE: Efficient exploding of faces without exploding curves?

      @dave r said:

      First, exploding a group or component by itself won't explode the curves that are in it. Exploding a group or component sinply removes the "wrapper" around the geometry. Second, why do you need to explode the molding profile group? Why not just open it for editing and do what you need to do to it?

      since i wanna put it on a parapet thats out of the group, so i explode it and make it follow the profile of the parapet curve πŸ˜„

    • Efficient exploding of faces without exploding curves?

      while working on mouldings, i usually weld the profile of the moulding, . the profile is in a group. but on exploding the group to get a face, the curves also get exploded, hence i have to reweld the moulding profile all together again. is there a way to explode profile nicely without exploding the curve?

    • Weird triangulation of faces

      i'm modelling a small building entirely in sketchup. i performed cleanup a number of times [via plugin].. after modeling for a long time i noticed that many faces in my model have been triangulated for no reason. there are also curved moulding in my model. what happened ? iv been using this software for years but haven't encountered this mysterious triangulation. the entire modelling was done in sketchup. i only imported 2d autocad files as dwg rest all 3d work was done in sketchup only. check the image
