This was a very interesting video. Modo seem to be a nice programm.

One thing with your render: The Drawer couldn't open because of the shaggy rug.

My first choice was IDX, then I've found twilight and this became the one and only renderengine I am using.

a nightscene with that tram and a su-foggy-scene (is there any chance to render fog?)

If you are using Twilight, you can overlay a depth render to simulate fog>>>Advanced render settings->Clay #4

Nice job so far, I'm enjoying seeing it take shape πŸ˜„

Here's the render with clay preset 4. looks a bit like after an eruption with vulcano

    • RE: Table cloth made easy [Tutorial]

Thank you. I have seen this thread and I installed the plugins but I didn't understand how to use it, so I hoped to find an easier way like in this thread. 😞

Unfortunately there is no tutorial to do it.

I tried to do that, but the modell doesn't appear in blender.

      what importpresets did you use?

      "ceate scene"?

how can I convert the model to 3ds?

sculptris allows only obj and sc1

I tried to import the obj-file with the obj-importer plugin, then su was calculating but nothing appears.

      what can I do?

    • RE: A Welcome Message to New SketchUcation Members

      Hi everybody,

I registered a few months ago but I didn't introduce myself. I'm interior designer and have my shop in germany. I've been using Corel Draw and Photoshop for my designs for almost 20 years but I was always dreaming about the third dimension. So I was always looking for those expensive programs but that was impossible for me. So 3 years ago I started with second life to make simple 3D scenes but SL wasn't the right thing so I was looking further. This year I installed sketchup 7 and I'm learning everyday. First I bought IDX render but that wasn't the right choice. I've fond Kerkythea and was happy but it was to complicated for me at that time. Then I've found Sketchucation. Sketchucation ist the most usefull teacher for me and I'm very thankful for that. This board inspires me to buy the license of twilight and I'm very happy with it. So my notbook never sleeps and always has something to render. I like this comunity and would like to thank the administrator, moderators and developpers for their help and all the kind members at this board. Keep on going.

A Problem of texturing the planks is that all planks are running horizontely (projected Texture) and this not correct. They should run along that red path shown below.
Is there any possibility to do so?

I'm also waiting for an answer. This is a problem for me too. I hope for a solution.

I was using preset low and the camera was definitely outside the fogbeams.

I have an older version and the render in the same position still works, but not at the new verson.

here's another one without beam (but with preset 11, so I expected no beams)
