Awning Windows
Hi
Im only hours into this pluggin so forgive me if what Im asking is obvious.
ONE
Is there anyway to manipulate casement windows to become awning windows. Im kinda surprised there isn't a dedicated awning window option. Where Im from 90% of windows in modern homes are awning openings.TWO
Alot of the buildings I design have uniform 3 window panels. I'll have an awning window 550mm at each end and a fix panel in the middle. Is there anyway to fix the two panels at the end and when you scale the window from 2000mm to 3000mm wide the middle panel changes only?Cheers for any help

RE: PlusSpec
I have been sitting on the fence for the longest time, when it comes to upgrading my software and workflow. I'm using sketchup to design and export to Autocad Ltd for drafting. My biggest problem is the drafting side of my work. Transferring information from sketchup to Autocad and then making changes is slow. I really like the look of Plus Spec but will not use it with layout. As I feel it doesn't work as a pure drafting tool, rather a good presentation tool. Which would leave me getting a subscription for Autocad Lt or Archicad Start Edition (The 2 most used software options in New Zealand market) and a subscription to Plus Spec.
Below are local prices for subscriptions. As you can see Plus Spec has a higher subscription than Autodesks Revit Lt Suite. It may be a better solution as some have suggested. But if I go for Plus Spec, then Im still gonna need a drafting program. It seems reading all the forum post there are a few of us in the same boat
Autocad Lt + Revit lt Subscription $627 USD per year
Archicad Start Edition Subscription $1598 USD per year
PlusSpec $729 USD Subscription per yearQuestion
Plus Spec seems a great package IF you use layout. But as I see it, would lose half of its benefits when exporting to other drafting software. Is anyone using Plus Spec in an Architectural office along with Autocad / Revit and can suggest a good work flow? -

HELP error message
Hi
Havent had this problem before. Every time I open this job and all the previous saves in this job I get this message:
The object area "Foundation" has been deleted or removed in the models hierarchy, please select it again.
When I press OK, sketchup freezes for a while. Then the message pops up again. I cant even close sketchup, without opening Task manager and forcing a shut down. I have been using Skatter and think I may have named a group "foundation"

RE: Urgent help!!!!! Pushpull Problem (SOLVED)
Hi Team
Like I said this has happened before.
I re-installed nvidia drivers and the problem has solved itself. Like you guys, it felt like a stuck key problem. I do remember now that re-installing graphics driver fixed it last time. How that seems to effect certain tools in SU I have no idea. Thanks so much for your help

Urgent help!!!!! Pushpull Problem (SOLVED)
Hi Guys
I have come across this problem in the past and solved it. But can't remember and cant find any solutions online. There are 2 problems which must be linked together.
PROBLEM 1
PROCESS
1.) I draw a square (4 lines and a face)
2.) Use the push/pull tool to form a cubeRESULT
The square (4 line and a face) moves in the direction I use the push/pull tool without forming a cube.So it acts like the move tool.PROBLEM 2
PROCESS
1.) Select the paint bucket toolRESULT
Instead of the paint bucket tool appearing the select paint (eye dropper) appears. -

I require people to pay in phases. Sketch, Preliminary and the Construction docs. They pay at the beginning of each phase.
That sounds like a good approach - I think I'll have to give it a go some time. Normally I rely on a rock-solid contract and a 50% deposit (if they won't pay that then it's usually a good indicator that you'll have trouble collecting your fees at the end of a project).
Same process here. Worked well for the last 10yrs

I enjoyed the game. It was the most flair Ive seen England play in a WC finals for a long long time. Sterling was Epic.

SU Maintenance expired
Hi Team
My Sketchup provider just sent me an email reminding me that my SU maintenance subscription is about to expire:
Secondly, for those who wish to continue to receive all of the new releases of SketchUp, you now have 30 days after your maintenance expires to renew (and pay for) your maintenance, to avoid the expired maintenance fee of $65 + gst, on top of the renewal fee of $125 + gst.
This fee also applies to any older versions of SketchUp Pro.I haven't even used SU14 yet being lazy about updating all the pluggins. Are most people updating every year in hope for the BIG UPDATE at some point. Or are people skipping years and paying the expired maintenance fee?
Be interested to hear, as Ive paid for every update since I bought SUv4, but could have really skipped versions now thinking back.

RE: Is BimUp 5D As Good as it Appears?
Hello aadbuild
Im very keen to jump on board. Been looking for a better work flow from design in SU to construction plans in Autocad.
Im a one man band who works from home on a laptop for the first half of the week. Then I do the heavy work on the desktop at the office for the other half of the week.
Will i need to purchase 2 copies of PlusSPec to be able to work from home and at the office?
I posted this in your forum but failed to show up.
cheers

Hard to find the answer on the Pluspec site, but are they charging $395 a year?! I really really hate the subscription model and this will keep me from using it at all.
Let me buy your software and I will use it. Enslave me to mandatory payments every year and I will turn myself inside out finding alternatives. I was lucky enough to start using Lightup before Adam went the subscription route and, if I hadn't, I wouldn't be using that software either. And don't get me started on Adobe...
And why is it almost impossible to even determine that it is a subscription service on the site? No where does it say this, that I could find, unless you actually have to register and then they drop that info?
Oh really. I didn't come across anywhere, that mentioned this. Thats 3x at least higher than its host program Sketchups updates/subscription. Is it a subscription for updates like SU, or a Subscription that you have to pay $395 to use the software yearly? Because I think that ends up being more than what a generally pay for Autocad Lt.

The upside is that its a sort of compliment! This is the way I started to look at the infringements that effected me.
Mike
I would never take legal action. As you said there is only one winner in that game "Lawyers"
Been down that track. Anyway its just a single imageI am flattered, but more gutted that they used a WIP instead of the final image. I will send them an account thou, just thought there maybe someway I gave away the rights when posting through photobucket.

A render used without my consent
Hello all
I was a little surprised to be surfing the internet for inspiration for a house design when I stumbled on a render being used on a website without my consent. The only place I have posted the image was here via Photobucket. http://www.aucklandhomefinders.co.nz/real-estate/something-old-or-something-new/
Has this happened to anyone else? I'm not sure of the rights I have and this may change in different countries. The weird thing is that I was approached by 2 different company's within a week to use this image. I asked what they were using them for and never got a answer in return.
Its not even the final render I did, but a wip I posted here a couple of years ago.

Mike,
Someone asked for transparency from software companies. I think John B. is being quite clear. SketchUp is not going to change much. LayOut seems to be getting new features regularly, but it's capabilities are now pretty well defined as well
PeterYou are actually right. I'm blind to what I don't want to believe.

Ruby 2 Question
Hi all
Personally Im totally gutted with the latest release of SU 2014. Its been a long time of updating since Ive been wow-ed by new releases. Ive been using SU since version 4 and it has been a huge part of my work flow in designing Housing. I have never since then, been as exited with new releases, as I have been with the amazing work of pluggin releases. To all those pluggin developers out there I am so thankful.
My question is to the pluggin developers. With the new Ruby 2, will this make it easier to push the boundary's of pluggin development? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I really do not know a thing when it comes to Ruby.
