I use TurboCad with SU for condoc creation.
Flatten the model and export as 3d dwg.
(2d export does not work the same)
Dimensions and leaders export as Tcad default and I just select and change formating to suit.[Edit/Select by/Entity type]
Text comes in as Tcad "Multi-text" and is format/content editable too.
Not parametric but a pretty good work-around for 2d and the price is right too.
Good idea to make both a 2d and 3d version of the model concerned.
Both dimensions and text actually come across substantially OK so do check it out.

I have never used it, but there is a freebie program out there called "Wink" that does things like Camtasia does.

So to learn a bit more I tried this: make a cube into a component. Open component and hide all lines on two sides. Then duplicate and scale/mirror in four symmetrical components that are touching on two sides. Then sculpt one component. You do have to hide more lines afterward underneath (still working on only one component) and you can remove the kissing faces so they don't z-fight. You can do these operations on a copy that has been moved away from the rest.

It's pretty fun to draw this way. Sorry I couldn't film a tutorial. Mine would be so slow to watch anyway.

I thought that was the reason for getting the script, so it would do that for you? 😕

SketchUp allows me to do whatever I want pretty quick, so, it's no problem. I need to figure out how to use this fantastic script the right way - I'm still finding the script to be fascinating, providing me a very quick way to define complex geometry with ease.

Yes, great suggestion. Perhaps one advantage of the way I described would give the user freedom to vary the path in two directions instead of just one (like scaling the width sometimes, then scaling the height, for example). Also, I've had trouble getting the FollowMe tool to keep the original plane in it's original angle which can get messy after creating the sweep - this is most likely due to my lack of user understanding.

Some folks just got WAY TOO MUCH time on their hands. ☀

Am I the only one that keeps thinking "gee, if I spent time learning how to use this stuff I'd be much more productive" . . . I sort of grabbed a handful of functionality and ran with it . . . there's really so much more you can do with this stuff - like, I've never even used the section tool . . . :gasp: . . .

The roller coaster project is officially "over" - it was a gigantic success!

Sorry this photo is very poor quality but it gives you an idea what some of the students did. This photo does not show all the roller coasters. Only four groups attempted the Round & Round - it was the most difficult, I think.

Thanks - that's great advice and helps . . . just a word of advice to the other newbs like me - DO NOT set the number of circle sides to 2000 - NO! Use lower values, closer to 100, or so.

Ironic that I used to teach advanced Pro-E classes and didn't even think to start out with a skeleton model. Thanks monsterzero for your post and link to your website with great video showing "how to".

I should add this to my very simple robot - the skeleton will make moving it into position - and back - much, much easier.

Very nice models Rodentpete and monsterzero - I'm not in the same league but still having lots of fun.
