Nice work, Gene. I like how you handled that point midway down the handle. The bottom of the handle looks like it gave you a challenge. Curious as to why the handle is a group instead of a component like the rest of the parts.

I'm considering adding a door handle to the door maker plugin. Is there any interest for this option?

You haven't unpacked LibFredo correctly, it's the LIBFREDO6_Dir_xx that you should have in the plugins folder. To aid in installing plugins correctly, even those from zip packages, have a look at this utility: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=42315

I bet that nanny duty wasn't all that unenjoyable. That table looks nice. I'll be interested to see some photos of the finished product. What kind of wood will you use. There is a lot of Thos. Moser stuff in the warehouse but at least most of it is put there by them. Actually, I drew and posted the first 65 or 70 pieces that were posted for them. They've expanded it since then.

Yes, no problem, as long as their SU version is 7 or more. If they have a version less than 7, you could save as a lower version before sending...

Hi Gene, the simplest and easiest way to make a spiral stair wit a hand rail ist to use Grow. First determine the dimensions and the design of one step and make it a component including the partly hand rail and than use Grow. For the hand rail you may use curviloft, or any pipe ruby or anything else. The hand rail in the first image was made by curviloft and the second with curviloft and convert arcs to cylinders. For Grow.rb look at this thread: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=20195&p=168380&hilit=grow Charly [image: sXv3_SpiralStair1.JPG] [image: 3J5e_wendeltreppe1.JPG] [image: itjh_wendeltreppe1.JPG]

It looks like it inserts components from data(length, width, etc.) that you specify...similar to a dynamic component. Looks useful! From your link... @unknownuser said: How to use the Engineering ToolBox After loading Sketchup and the Engineering ToolBox from the menu - navigate to the wanted component in the navigation menu above - and select "insert" to add the wanted component to your SketchUp model. Note! The SketchUp Engineering Toolbox is an online resource updated continuously. You need an internet connection to operate. For some components parameters like length, color, offset and more can be modified before insertion. Customized components can be inserted by changing parameters in the dialog boxes at the end of the component lists - and clicking "custom!" Selected objects in the model can be manipulated - rotated, moved, colors changed and more - from the Tools section. Assistant objects like lines, horizontal and vertical planes can be added.

...so to add to Jim's post, something must have gone wrong. You should definitelybe able to open a version 6 file in SU 7. In fact, we do that all the time here with files uploaded by members still using SU 6 (or even 5).

Gene, great model and great illustratative study. This is what Sketchup excels at, and this is exactly the type of usage I initially envisioned using Sketchup for (not so much with framing but more for tricky details in the millwork and cabinetmaking trade). Best,

Gene, You can always save your SketchUp model as a version 6 skp while in SU 7 In order to be compatible with SU7 skps, the update would most likely come from Chief Architect and not from Google. CMD
