Very nice.....just need a few more decorations on the tree, a nice hot cup of hot chocolate and a cookie for Santa and the scene is complete.

@garystan said: I noticed the "Place in line" button. What is that option ? Thanks............garystan It uses the phpBB BBcode to embed images into your posts like this... [image: 5IQp_loop-example-tig.gif] You can see when your are drafting your posts it wraps the image in BBcode... [attachment=0]loop-example-tig.gif[/attachment] Make reading your posts that bit more cleaner.

It looks like an outside area, but it's mostly shaded (by the trees). Now THAT'S quiet. garystan The small patio? Thanks! I actually lived there and my SO at the time designed and built that garden. I just did the 3D after the fact as an exercise and for posterity. It was a great place to unwind after work.

The way I would do it, simply, is to make a solid component that is exactly the same shape on its perimeter as your custom window, but a few inches thick. I would not use the custom window component itself as that probably has far too much detail in it and that makes the next steps harder. Place the template on the wall where you want it and move it into the outer wall surface about 1/2 way the template thickness. Edit the wall, select the wall surface only, and Intersect with Model. That will create a face that matches the window profile. Delete the template or move it away if you need it again. That will show you the window outline on the wall. Select it and Push/Pull it to the inner wall surface. That will create the window opening in the wall. Place a copy of the custom window in the opening.

Some suggestions: More tables in the foreground and more physical lights in the ceiling.

Getting back plates to line up with the correct perspective and focal depth is really an art and it looks like you got it.

@tuna1957 said: garystan, Really like the tone of your render. I do agree that the shadows seem a little off for a sunset/dusk scene. I don't understand your comment about shadows limited by the software? You can get very raking shadows by adjusting the time and month settings in the SU shadow window. I've attached a quickie render as an example. The time is 6:30 pm, the day is August 26th. Both set in the SU shadow window. It got me the very long raking shadows you'd see late in the day. tuna1957 : Now THAT'S a shadow. Do you set the GeoLocation ? The reason I ask, is that (if I'm correct) by using GeoLocation, you set the Longitudes and Latitudes for the sun. Thanks.....................garystan

@pbacot said: I like the light you're getting! One nudge: that'll be a toasty bathroom. You can only build so small a fire and those stoves really churn out the heat! Good job! pbacot : Thanks for your comment. I WAS trying to get a balance between the outside light and the interior light. As for the stove....I guess it could've been a "little" smaller. Just thinking in terms of those cold days/nights. garystan

@garystan said: Hi everybody : I've been working on a Log Cabin project. And due to the way my Computer System is acting, I'd like to delete this project, and start over. The other Log Cabin projects show up in My Pictures folder (where I temporarily store them until I put the "final product" on disk). But, the latest one is only showing up in the listing when I open Sketchup. When I click FILE >OPEN. The files labeled "Log Cabin Dining Room 2", "Log Cabin Dining Room 3", etc. These show up in the listing after clicking on FILE > OPEN. I can open them. But I can't find them in my System. I'm not sure where to look. garystan Update : Sorry about the confusion. I accidentally SAVED them on an external Hard Drive I used for Google Data (objects that I created). I'm hot sure HOW they got stored there. I usually SAVE them on Drive C......MY PICTURES folder. garystan
