It sounds like it might be some sort of memory or cache problem. You don't have it saved as a component, do you? One thing I could suggest is that instead of trying to import the new ring, you open it in a separate file, then copy / paste it into the project file. You'll have to resave the imported geometry as a new component if you need it to be.

[image: 4ig1_Dddddddddd.jpg]Hi Gary, I have as a last resort tried to explain with an example image which was thrown together. If this does not explain it I really do not know what will. Somthing else I do not understand is why you did not respond to comments by amending your existing images like the artist studio instead of completely doing another from scratch with the same elephant in the room faults. Anyway hope this hasty example enlightens (Edited) Oh I forgot to add your materials use has improved a lot

Nice feeling and modeling of the railing! The wood may be helped by rotating the texture on the uprights 90 degrees so the grain goes parallel to long direction of the piece.

Thanks for sharing. I think some tips may improve the result: Modeling: Choose a better plant (higher in polygon), more details on window frames, paying enough attention to furniture dimensions ( seems they are bigger than normal) Texturing: Window frame parts need to be revised. And as a tip, you might not be loyal to real lighting, think of light as a tool to paint with... ad lights whenever you think is needed...

I guess you need to tweak materials, maybe add some interior lights... etc

Short answer: Yes. Longer answer: Yes. (But models created in SU 2018 can't be opened in older SU version. They can however be saved as older SU versions.)

@garystan said: I just found out about Sketchup 2015. I'll bite. What did you hear about SU2015? You know the latest version is SU2018? And the latest free desktop verson is SU2017 Make? As previously mentioned, be sure to read the Free / Make version licence & limitations to be sure you're in the clear for your use / intent.
