    • RE: Have you ever seen one of these?

I have never seen one of these IRL... 😐
But I sure like the idea, although - and as you mention yourself - I'm not sure if the concept is conveniently possible...

I can imagine that there would be issues with the soap remains from washing your hands in the toilet cistern... But what do I know... Maybe some kind of special soap or a filter would make this possible...?!? πŸ˜‰

What render application have you used for the image..??

    • RE: Kerky render farm

      Hi Julian,

Please don't get me wrong... I really don't mind that you post such a question here at our "sister" forum, but I suggest that you post such a technical question as well at the KT Forum... πŸ˜‰

Primary reason for this is that personally I don't have any experience using the network option and back "home" I'm sure that there will be many more users who can contribute to this and give you some expert advice... πŸ˜‰

Have you seen the Network Rendering - How do we set it up? thread..?? πŸ˜‰

      Thanks, Bytor! πŸ˜„
      It looks great..!!
Being from Denmark, it's a joy to see good Danish design as 3D models... πŸ˜„
For those of you who don't know Fritz Hansen, I suggest you take a look at Republic of Fritz Hansen...

And I also like the render you've made with KT2008... πŸ˜‰
And a pleasure to see that you've already used the new wooden floor from Lis... πŸ˜„

    • Xfrog Public Trees - KT Model Libraries

With compliments from Greenworks, we have been allowed to make some KT Model Libraries of the Xfrog Public Trees... πŸ˜„

Download the zip-libraries from our repository and unzip the files to where your KT Models subfolder is located...
      (I.e. X:\Program Files\Kerkythea Rendering System\Models)

      Xfrog Public Tree lib. 1
      Xfrog-Public-1s.jpg
      Xfrog Public Tree lib. 2
      Xfrog-Public-2s.jpg
To place the models in KT, you just click the Insert > Model and you'll find the Xfrog Public Tree libraries...

You can then use the instancing brush to populate the trees in a nice exterior scene... πŸ˜„

If you're unfamiliar with the instancing brush, I suggest you take a look at the Instancing Brush video tutorial... πŸ˜‰

      Enjoy..!! 😍

    • Xfrog Sweet Birch - KT Model library

For those of you who haven't seen this already at the KT Forum, I post it here as well... πŸ˜‰

From Greenworks we've been allowed to convert the free sample Sweet Birch into a Kerkythea Model Library... πŸ˜„

You can download the Xfrog Sweet Birch from our repository...
All materials have been set, so all you need to do is to insert the trees to your scene and you're ready to go... πŸ˜„

This model library contains 3D models of the Xfrog Sweet Birch tree in 3 different age stages (Adult, Medium and Young)...

To install the model library into Kerkythea 2008 Echo, you simply download the zip-file from our repository and unzip the files to where your KT Models subfolder is located...
      (I.e. X:\Program Files\Kerkythea Rendering System\Models)

To place the models in KT, you just click the Insert > Model and you'll find the 3D models in the various age stages...
      modellib.jpg
After placement in KT, you can easily move the trees around in your scene, scale and/or rotate them as you want to and by using the instancing brush, you can create your own virtual forest... πŸ˜„
      sweet_birch2.jpg
I can also inform that we're currently preparing conversion of the Xfrog Public Plants into KT Model libraries and we expect these to be ready during week 7... πŸ˜‰

    • RE: Kerkythea invisible textures

      Hi viperit,

I assume that you've posted this in the wrong section of the SCF...?!? πŸ˜‰
Not that I mind that you're posting here at SCF, but I'm sure that you would get help much quicker, if you had posted your question directly at the KT Forum... πŸ˜‰

To achieve what you want to, you need to apply an alpha texture in the Clip mapping channel of the material editor...

I assume that you haven't much experience with render techniques in general, and I teherfore recommend that you download and read the Kerkythea Material Editor Guide for KT2007 to learn more about material creation...
Although this tutorial was created for the previous version of KT, principles remain identical and all the settings etc. remain identical in the new Material Editor in KT2008 Echo... πŸ˜‰

      Hope this helps..??

    • RE: My 1st renderings!

      Hi All,

It's not that I want to hijack this thread, but since Gaieus wrote the following, I thought it would be a good idea to mention it here as well... πŸ˜‰

      πŸ˜„

Well, seriously speaking, thanks for your efforts (I mean the whole KT-Team) in making Kerky an even more useful (and better integrated) tool!

      You're welcome, Gaieus! πŸ˜„

And I'm very pleased to announce that the new SU2KT version 3.0 plug-in has now been released..!!
Credits goes to Tomasz Marek, who have made an excellent job with this new plug-in, and the handshake with SU is even better now than it was before...!

To get the new SU2KT, please visit the KT repository...

Tomasz has been doing a really great job, and placing omni- and spot-lights inside SU will be much easier...

    • RE: KT intro for Newbie?

I suggest that you start downloading the Getting Started KT2007 tutorial... πŸ˜‰

Although this tut was created for the previous KT version, basics remain the same, only the GUI has changed, the engine has been optimized and many new features has been included...
The Material Editor has been completely re-designed - but again, the functions are similar and should be easily adaptable... πŸ˜‰

The new Getting Started KT2008 Echo tutorial has been delayed a little, but will become available within the next 1-2 weeks... πŸ˜„

Download some - or all - of the free KT material libraries from our repository and apply some of these to your textures...
(Please note that there's a total of 19 material libraries currently available, and more to come very soon... 😍 )

And please note that it really isn't necessary to fiddle with all materials... Most of them can be used directly from SU... πŸ˜‰

My best advice will be that you make a simple scene/model to begin with...
This could be a simple room with a window... Place a few objects (I.e. a chair, a table etc.) inside the room and start playing with KT... πŸ˜‰

And if you have questions or want additional help, I recommend that you visit the KT Forum, where you'll find many helpful tips and tricks as well...

Looking forward to see some renders in near future..!! πŸ˜„
