This is really funny... ๐Ÿ˜„ I remember that card from last year, when you posted it at the old SU Forum...
If I recall correct, someone suggested that the x-mas tree should be similar to the Charlie Brown tree... ๐Ÿ˜†

Any way - I feel that this years holiday card looks much better... ๐Ÿ˜‰
(made that sound as if the one from last year didn't look good, which isn't true, cause it was also nice...)

So to me, there is no real winner here.

The magic solution to me would be to have a 'hybrid' render engine that calculates an unbiased solution ('brute force'methods like MLT and all sorts of pathtracing) with a little help of some 'biased' code to clean difficult indirect lit parts.

      ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜†
Well... What can I say... But I'm sure that you're going to be pleased with next KT2008 release... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Which of the render engines did you feel fitted best for the job?

    • Got inspired...

      Hi All,

It's been a while since I've posted any renders here... Primary because of these confidentiality rules... ๐Ÿ˜

      Any way...
I got inspired by Jason's Holiday Card... thread...

First I downloaded a model from Google 3D Warehouse... Then I made a scene in SU, but I soon realized that the model was very low poly...
So I decided to make my own, where I only borrowed a part of the first... ๐Ÿ˜‰

After the render, I've added a little Bloom Effect...
You can see the image in the original size here...

If someone wants the 'skippy' of this, please let me know... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Actually it was the a server issue at our web-hosting provider...
Haven't been informed about the actual root cause... ๐Ÿ˜

But most important, everything is what it used to be and the site is up running again...

      ๐Ÿ˜†
Well... Translating from English to another language wouldn't require that you have full knowledge of the KT application...
      Afterall it's just a translation...
But the situation might be different if you want to write a new tutorial... ๐Ÿ˜‰

And maybe you would want to wait, cause I'm currently preparing an update of the Getting Started tutorial, where the new features and GUI of KT will be explained...

So - you all have something to look forward to soon...! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here is a sample of what I've done so far and if the KT gurus can give me some pointers based on what you see...things I should do, I would appriciate it.

It's not that I see myself as a KT guru, but I suggest that you use a HDRI probe for a scene like this... ๐Ÿ˜‰

At the KT Forum you can find many useful tips and tricks related to this... ๐Ÿ˜‰

Take a look at some of these examples...

      Hi Masta,

If you haven't already done so, I suggest that you download the Getting Started tutorial for KT 2007...
For materials, I recommend that you download the Kerkythea Material Editor Guide for KT2007...

      Hope this helps... ๐Ÿ˜‰
