Looking forward to this.
Mine is still not finished, it took me about 3 years but only between drops and incoming money.

Right click on the component, choose Change axes and proceed as desired.

RE: Is this drawing missing something ?
Yep, exactly what I thought. All the upper part hangs on those.
Thank you. -
Is this drawing missing something ?
Hi guys,
I am no engineer or something but I believe this drawing is missing some more dimensions,is it?
I just ran across this small job of recreating this in sketchup, and all went well until I encountered the two "+" which are not related in one direction. And I feel there is something more missing.
What is the deal with it? Can it be reproduced in Sketchup the way it is ?

RE: Correctly matching of photos
Actually that photo is a 3d rendering, and the perspective is a 2 point one to get the maximum space rendered. I believe the photo I uploaded is the real deal.

RE: Correctly matching of photos
I meant the guiding lines.
There is something wrong with the picture.. I even tried to put the guides on the square hanging watch with no luck.

RE: Rayner...in the style of
You are right, indeed is hard or impossible to find what you need for these projects.

RE: Rayner...in the style of
I believe the last thing to add to your projects is life. Maybe this is the way you want it, but, for example, those chariots yield for some pairs of horses.
Otherwise lovely ! -
RE: Correctly matching of photos
Yes, everything is wrong.
You should place the yellow lines on the same wall, top and bottom. And the red lines should start on the opposite/perpendicular wall-top and bottom. This way you get the origin in the corner and there you go..

RE: Car renders,WIPs&videos
Indeed it looks crazy, the peugeot guys are starting to do some nice concepts.
Wow, that is strange, almost a year !! And it felt like the other month...
These are from the last year.Peugeot Exalt B14, Peugeot Lion Phaeton and Peugeot Type 1(which I am sending it to you if you want to apply some textures as you well know to do).

RE: PLS HELP: My Render Going To Error
Maybe you applied the floor material to the other side of the wall and on this side you only see the bump map ?

RE: Disable least likely axis?!
Don't forget to hold ALT while moving to break some of the endpoints or lines bondage.(Autofold, Move + Alt (Move + Command on a Mac) to force the movement.)
Or to right click Unglue a component or a group that was created exactly over a face and is glued to it. -
RE: Can you apply double click function to MOVE tool?
When you move an object and you insert the value in the vcb and hit enter, that value is recorded in the background. The next time when you manually move an object on a given direction or axis it will snap when it reaches that length. That's valid only with the last inserted vcb Move tool value though.

RE: Playing with planes...
It looks pretty good ! Especially the one with the water.

RE: Graphic Performance
Just find that texture in the library and delete it or replace it.

RE: Model Size and Speed
You need to keep everything grouped and layered: walls, rooms, doors, windows, furniture, roof, floors.
I am not much into architecture but folks around work with big size models- some over 200MB. 15MB is small-just keep things tidy and grouped.
When you have an intersection to make be sure to select only what you want to intersect and not the whole model. -
RE: Using Trial/Make version for [kind of] commercial use
You can still install the older versions(7,8?) which can be used for commercial purpose even if not pro.

RE: Draw a plan from a picture
I don't know if there is a video explaining exactly what you need but you can try searching sketchup and see what draws your attention.
For example..
http://youtu.be/JC8sYjN1vtYYou should start with the easiest one.
