Very nice indeed! sometimes, in such simple things we can see how powerful plugins are made for SketchUp. I've learned a very strong lesson here, though I consider myself a good sketchup user. Thanks for this.
You could use a tangent arc with 3 segments instead of 15 segments spline, I guess.

There is also a midpoint.rb made by Rick Wilson. This is the one I use.

Similar things happened with Sketchup Window menus. It could be a common cause ... one of google is or should be aware, for future version.

Hmm, it seems that Sk0tchup has some uv mapping functions under the hood. I tested this and I was amazed... Until now I thought just projecting was the only way to put a texture on a curved surface...
It's a pity this uv capabilities are not better implemented

I just watched a documentary on National Geographic about Capital Gate Tower from Abu Dhabi and guess what? I have seen that guys who were working on its design were using Google Sketchup
Isn't that nice?

The motion blur of that falling chip is post-processing, or the render engine can render motion blur ?

We all know the great amplitude that Google has taken in the last years. Also we know about Google OS and their project to move all data on their servers. But we also know that some - let's say US gov - just an example, please don't be offended, as I could as well to choose other state (China ) are very curious about what individuals do, think, want.

So, what is the priority? Short-term safety, or ones privacy? Will Google fight for individuals rights until the end of the world, or the power corrupts and in the end entrusting in other that ourselves can be dangerous?

But couldn't be automated this process? There is a plugin that calculates center of gravity, if I remember right. So, from that center, I guess it can be found the closest and the farthest point in selected geometry. I don't know how much can this help, but as I'm thinking now, my intuition says that can help. But, I also know that programming is not about intuition, but about autism (yeah, like to those people, you must tell to the computer exactly each step).
On the other hand, as such plugin would process only one selection at one time, a relative long time process maybe could be reasonable. Anyway, maybe an algorithm which calculates optimal bbox for a 3d shape would be the hardest part . I'm not good at math... so here a math expert would be welcomed

Well, I do not see anything, no dash, no check and I can click on it until my mouse gets broken... nothing happens . I can try to reinstall, but if this happened it s sign that a problem is deep inside its guts. Dunno, I have the impression that Su6 was way more stable... I don't know what google did to new versions.

I restarted it, I did reset workspace, but the shadow window can not be activated. I click on Window menu entry, but nothing happens. I should see a symbol there if it's opened, right?

Thanks, done. I recovered them.
With one exception: SHADOWS. I can not open it . I tried from Window menu and from Shadows toolbar button. The button doesn't stay pressed and the Shadow window is nowhere.
Any suggestions?

I can not find my layers window I suspect that is somewhere out of screen, but I can not take the screw driver to open my monitor and search for it
Ok, now seriously: I just updated my nvidia drivers and somehow I suspect it's related to it. in Window menu is activated. And if I maximize/minimize it from there, it doesn't show up.
How can I retrieve it back?

So, what you are saying is if I want to open more windows, I have to change the class of the graphic card? Well, I'll stay on max 3 SU instances then . It's more than enough for me. I usually need two, in case that I need some geometry from other model.

These are the settings for OpenGL in Sketchup; I checked Model Info and I use antialiased textures.

So, in the end, if I want to change my video card, what specifications do I need ?

What for should I look to a video card to improve my computer's performance? Do I need a VC with more memory? The textures that I use are stored in video card RAM for OpenGL rendering?
