Hi Guys, I am trying to retrieve author and name of this project, of which I only remember it is in Japan.
If anybody can help me I would be most grateful and yes, I have already scoured the intewebz with google to no avail!
Please, help!

may I publish here a little tutorial on how to use the Vray Blend Material?
It's useful to have bump maps without a diffuse texture (sort of)
Yes. But please post in a new thread, and tag it [Tutorial] so it's easier to find.
Gotcha

Hi there! I have been coming back to this topic every once in a while, and I downloaded the pdf attached in the first entry ages ago. Always telling myself I wanted to do it in Sketchup. I have finally come around to complete the model. It is far from perfect but it was really fun to make.
It's amazing what a non-client project can teach you in terms of details to add, general "feel" of the model and such. I'm uploading only a screenshot for now, because the model is too big to attach. The model weighs in at 17MB and all has been done by me, apart from face me components and 3D rocks.
I hope to have it on the 3D Warehouse soon, but I think I am going to wait until the passage between google and trimble has been completed.
For now, I hope you enjoy this image
this is great, great news!
One thing about versions: licensed users will have a free upgrade, or will they need to buy it?
a perfect addition to this tool would be an icon to put along side le rectangle icon.
If anybody can teach me, i am willing to do it myself
Yes, building windows in sketchup can be a pain in the A$$, especially if there are a lot of them.
I have implemented Lattice Maker in my workflow as follows:
Lattice maker can be found here: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=28223
Use at own risk, may cause addiction!

Only at render time. SketchUp has no knowledge of how V-Ray materials are designed.
So how does this make them usable?? Maybe I'm just too used to using vray materials in 3d studio max!
That's an amazing take on the problem! In this way the single window pane can become a component to copy around the building... (and it takes care of material and uv settings too!)
What would be the perfect distance between glass pane tho?
This is a great reference post. The only thing I would like to see is if these maps, once applied on the diffuse channel, are visible in the Sketchup Model, or only at rendering time.
Nice work!
My most recent experiment is to obtain good double reflections on windows coming from double glazing on windows. It's something that very rarely I need to do, but if I needed it I wouldn't know how to do it right know.
So I'm asking: how do you get around to make double glazing? Is it possible to do it only with material settings, or is modeling the best way? And if you model it, do you make two single planes of geometry, or two very thin slabls of glass?
Suggestions appreciated here
Tyre-Kickers... love that concept.
I have just started turning down jobs for an obnoxious client who would impose her timeline on my job, and pay me a fraction of what was due.
I am still living in shock (also because I am convinced that she will eventually look for me again in the future) and I am trying to figure out other ways of revenue...
Just my 2 cents
Really nice job on modeling and texturing!
Just curious: what was the render time for one of these images?
Congratulations!
I've seen this pointed out before, but I just discovered that while orbiting with the middle mouse pressed, if you press the left button, orbit becomes pan.
It's a useful way to orbit/pan without using two hands
THere is also a plugin called component onto faces wich could help you. You have to correctly position the center of the component though
How to fold a plane on a curved surface?
Nothing more simple:
Forgive me.. I couldn't resist
Sadness.. got here too late..
Let me know please if you happen to have more!
