    • RE: Problems making an object snap onto another one

"are you modeling with the Camera set to Parallel Projection?"
Yes. Isn't that the best method?

"I read it and it reads as if you not pressed F1 and read the docs on using SketchUp."
      You are right! Sorry!

"Are you just moving around in model space or maybe changing from perspective view to parallel projection view and back again ???"
I just try to move the object to that one I want to snap to and turn around to approach it; I don't change the projection in the camera menu.

Ok, what Rich wrote seems to be the answer to my question.

      Thank you

Oh yes, you are right! But I don't understand how it works. How do I "stamp"?

    • Problems making an object snap onto another one

      Hi,
When I want to snap one object to another, I usually have to try several times because the object is always far away from the one I want to attach it to. It seems to be close, but when I change the perspective, I see that it is still far away from another side. Is there a particular method that can do this better?
      Kind regards

    • No more copying by CTRL+dragging?

      Hi,
In older versions of Sketchup it was possible to make and move a copy of an object by pressing CTRL and dragging it. Is that a matter of settings or does it not exist anymore?
      Kind regards

    • I may not change the number of segments of an arc

      Hi,

I have just viewed a tutorial showing how to augment the number of segments of an arc by 2 ways from which no one works in my Sketchup Pro: neither by clicking on the arc symbol and entering a value before designing an arc nor by selecting a traced arc, choosing Element information and entering a number.

What may be the reason and how to get a solution to that "problem"?

      Nice regards

    • RE: Using a shape on a picture in Sketchup?

      Hi,

Meanwhile I have noticed that the manufacturer offers the plan of the guides in several formats, even in.skp! for each of it's guides.
So I could use that file for placing the holes exactly.

Thank you for your interest and your help!

      Kind regards

      Hello,

      Thank You for Your message!

I am using the Pro version 21.1.332
Meanwhile I have realized by myself that it is at least tricky to use this image to mill the shape of the guide in a depth of 1mm in order to place it at the exact place on all the parts.

Therefore I will only drill 2 holes in a depth of some mm, that will do the same job and is a lot easier.

      Kind regards

    • Using a shape on a picture in Sketchup?

      Hello,

How can I integrate the shape of a drawer guide(350mm * 37mm at its greatest width) from a picture into a design?
Here attached the picture and the design in sketchup it has to be put on it in order to CNC-mill the shape out of the wood.

      Best regards
