Instead of scaling, why not just select the bottom part of the bag and use the Move tool to stretch the bottom. This is quick, easy and you won't end up scaling the material.

Interesting site... shows a lot of info on a certain color. HOWEVER, it takes several steps to copy the hex info using that site..

I actually tried Fredo's stuff once, a while ago, but I had trouble with rotation and flipping options (edit: and grouping) randomly disappearing and didn't notice this one. I'll download it again and try. Thanks!

Has anyone found a way to have certain models not affected by inference-snapping? I'm finding a couple situations where I wish the inference-snapping would ignore a model in the scene. For example, I have a large sub-divided plane and I'm trying to extrude a cube in the foreground, the motion keeps snapping at sub-division way off in the background.

But others use Blender to achieve desired results as it's uv mapping is highly recommended. I've no experience with Blender yet but intend to check it out soon. I feel your pain though

I am not aware of anything older. If you can think of what it was, I'd be interested in seeing it. As far as I know, these are ground breaking plugins listed (and only scratching the surface of possiblities!).

That's a really neat concept. I hope to see what you make of it. Definitely a lot of vegetation, some water, mixed with some ultra-modern black and chrome, that would be cool.

Ok. I didn't know.. I thought it was native. Is there some way to stash this inside my script so that the method is local? Or perhaps I shouldn't worry about that? (How do I check if a method is defined? If I can't, are duplicates OK?)

@unknownuser said: I started with a circle with 48 sides and made that into a sphere before starting to deform and shape it, but I was hoping for a polygonal solution (like an icosahedron except more triangles).. any idea where I can get a tool that makes these kinds of spheres? Did you try Add Detail in the Sandbox tools? It will double/subdivide the selected faces. This may not be what you want, however.

Hi folks. I would try this: 1 - Make a group or a component with the object. 2 - Inside the group or component, I would create another nested group that will contain a simple rectangular box having its dimensions adjusted to contain exactly the object. This is very easy to do with the Rectangle Tool and the Push/Pull Tool using the object itself to control the pulls or the pushes. 3 - I would hide this box. 4 - Then, whenever I need to grab the "bounding box" of an object, I would first show hidden geometry and then move the object using any suitable points on that box. Of course, using scenes to memorize settings like "show hidden geometry" or not would help greatly. Just a click on a scene tab and I am set to grab and move. Another click and the box or boxes are hidden. Using layers could also be possible to control the visibility of these boxes. Just ideas.

i'll let you alone with this, but i have a feeling if you ever accomplish what your attempting you'll discover it doesn't accomplish what you thought it would. good luck, it is an interesting challenge if nothing else and some good may come from it.

About Sketchyphysics A little trick if you want that your objets are still straight fall down at the end Just put 2 big boxes (one in front of, one behind) so objects are jamed in! [image: uixN_trick.jpg] About undrop just copy/past that in the Web console Select yours groups and press "Eval" Change z = z + 100.cm as you want (for copy all Code follow click blue "Select All" model = Sketchup.active_model model.start_operation("Move in Z") entities = model.entities selection = model.selection zeds=[] index=0 sorted_groups=[] groups=[];selection.each{|entity|groups.push(entity) if entity.kind_of?(Sketchup;;Group)} groups.each{|group|zeds.push([group.bounds.min.z, index]) index+=1 } zeds.sort! zeds.each{|z|sorted_groups.push(groups[z[1]]) } ### sorted_groups is now groups sorted by z z = 0.0 sorted_groups.each do |e| # update! # Now we process the groups t = Geom;;Transformation.new(Geom;;Point3d.new(0,0,z)) # Apply the transformation e.transform!(t) z = z + 100.cm end model.commit_operation return nil

@chris fullmer said: I would imagine that it is possible. Are you interested in learning Ruby? This is a great place to learn it. Chris I did a little Ruby tutorial a few years ago, but it kept crashing on me at a certain point. So I guess I know the reeeaal basics. (ooooooor.. could quickly remember them if I seem em again!) If you could give me some ideas (like methods, functions, etc.) of how I can make this thing work with a Ruby plugin, that'd be great.
