Last things first - you can't change a line's weight other than the thickness of all lines in your 'style' or setting a 'profile' thicker than the rest - BUT there are third-party scripts to mimic line 'weights' and related properties - e.g. 2D Tools' Line-Style. If a line is 'free-standing' you can change its length in the 'Entity Info' dialog by typing in a new length - it will extend from its end [i.e. the second point picked when making it, the first-point - the start-point - remains static]. If you make sure everything is unselected [Ctrl+T ?] you can the activate the Move tool and then select any line's vertex [start or end] and move it to a new point - if you know the increase in line length type this in, or if you have some other geometry or guides to snap to you can those. When in Move if you pick away from the line's vertices on the line itself you them move the whole line unchanged in its length. If you move a line's vertex and it forms a perimeter to a face [that's not triangular] you are constrained to the plane of the face [i.e. the coplanar edges] - unless you press 'Alt', in which case you can move the line's vertex in 3D and the face with 'auto-fold' adding 'creases' to itself so that faces will still exist for the rearranged [now non-coplanar] set of edges... If you are uncertain of a line's length and want to set it to something specific then use guides to make a 'framework' to snap to or the tapemeasure tool to get it's length so you know what to adjust it to. If you have a shape and want to make several edges a certain length - for example a 2D face or a 3D cube the if you select the edge[s] [or for a cube select 'faces'] that are attached to the lines in question and then use Move entering [or snapping to] required amount then all of the lines will adjust in one go. Hope this helps...

Welcome to the forum There is a walk tool in Sketchup to allow walking around, you have the option of collision detection if you want. There is other software you can export your model to as well like Unity 3D, IceVision, and others. Does that help?

this has happened to me before... options. try importing the file into a new sketchup file via the import menu. try opening the file before bed and giving it some 8 hours to attempt to open... making sure not to use any other software and don't let the screensaver interrupt. try importing the file into another program such as 3DsimEdit or 3Dmax some of these have sketchup file import and some are plugins that allow it. then export it again back to sketchup. rebuild the whole model from scratch and employ the make backup option as well as autosave. you might try sending the file to someone else and see if they can open it, "fix problems" and "purge" for you.

There is an online users guide here and an online reference guide here. They aren't pdf's so you can't download either in one shot. You can print each page if you have enough patience. I don't. Maybe Aidan Chopra will be updating his SketchUp for Dummies book??

After making the changes in the style in SU, make sure to update the style (there is a round arrow in the style dialog). Also, best is to use scenes for a LO export where the scenes are updated (after you update the style), too.

why does it take posting this to solve my year old problem?! In Steermouse, you can actually give an action to holding the scrollwheel button and scrolling. And, wait for it, mine was set to page up and page down. I disabled all actions for this and, what do you know, problem solved. sigh sometimes I amaze even myself...

Then there is always Vue trees, best used in Vue obviously. However for a low detailed SU version it's doable. (1.7MB) [image: cAb0_CoconutTreeV.png]

You can insert any insertable content (png images and such) into a simple layout file then go to File menu > Save as scrapbook. Then you will find your custom scrapbook content in the Scrapbooks browser on the right.

@jorgensen said: Regarding one scene for every frame - is there an easy way to create this, when I have one scene for start and one for the end ? If you read my whole post in the link above there is a way I developed that uses a curve with segments (vertices) for each frame. It works, but is not very intuitive. Soon there will be a better way...

Some possibilities: as suggested, z-fighting: two faces on top of each other problem with graphics card driver (you could try upgrading) model might be located far (like a kilometer or more) from the SU origin point, or it might have parts (one short line is enough) that are laying somewhere in "outer space". After a reboot to try to get Vista to stop telling me I needed V8 to open a file which had been saved with V8, and ignoring my repeated instructions in various places to open SU file with V8, my toolbars are docked where I last left them. SU windows (managers and such) remain uncontrollable.
