Well since I first started this thread I did not know anything about creating animations using Sketchup! I have had a lot of help and our foundation just finished a video series about how the Great Pyramid was built using water and barges. Below is the link: http://www.thepump.org/Joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=69 You can download the .ISO fine to make a DVD you can play in your DVD Player. I hope you find the series of videos interesting. If you have any questions let me know by emailing me through the web site http://www.thepump.org. I hope everyone can mention this series on their facebook page if you have one. I thank everyone for all the help I have received! Thanks again! Thanks all, I am back and functional. FYI. When SU is first installed the materials folder is locked. So when you try to use the "options" screen in Twilight Render to change paths after doing an upgrade the new path will not take. Unlocking the folder made life a lot easier.

For small details like that, scale the model up by a factor of 100 or 1000. This will help prevent the missing faces. Another approach to putting the bevels on would be to draw a cone at the sharpening angle and intersect it with the drill. [image: IXqq_drill.png] For something like this model, I find it helpful to think in terms of how the bevel would be put on the real object. For a drill you would do that with a grinder and rotate the drill rod. The surface of the cone represents the contact line between the wheel and the drill.

@mbarker I've replied to you in a PM I just tried it on v2024 and it works fine... although most of it is over a decade old ! It imports a text file with a camera-view on each line. The camera-view entry must be as follows... name, xeye, yeye, zeye, xtarget, ytarget, ztarget, rollangle, fovangle there can be an optional value added after 'fovangle': ,image But you probably aren't wanting to use that. The values in the entry must be separated with the constants that are set in the RB file: Edit the ICVSEP and ICDSEP constants to suit your typical file's locale value-separator [' ',;:\t] and decimal.separator [. or ,]... In the example I show it's as a comma , separator and a . You might use a space or ; and a , to suit locale. Please check you are setting up you file correctly. As I said it works fine given the correct input. To attach an RB file just drop it into the message TIGimportcamera.rb There are donation buttons against many authors entries in the PluginStore and ExtensionStore³

Yes. That's the link. Sorry. I went to bed after my last post. I wasn't thinking about the copyright but more the ethics. I think it would be ethical to talk to him before you start posting rewrites of his plugin.

That's tough. Perhaps if you clarified exactly what you need and what you need it for. There are thousands of cities in the world and all are a bit different and the type you need is probably relative to where your clients are located. You can try to search Google images for things like "Urban Communities", "Urban Centers", "Town Square", etc. I still say your best bet is to get out with a camera and spend a day in an area relevant to your archvis projects and take as many photos as you can. If you want 3D backgrounds that are ready made with all that stuff in it, I know of nothing like that on the market, except for hobbyist software like DAZ3D and iClone. Most archvis professionals want more control over their projects and would rather create the entourage and backgrounds themselves so it doesn't look like they just drop clip art into their scene.

That always happens when (after selecting the scale tool) you zoom in too quickly. They are still visible - go on scaling this way for now...

See EarthMover´s tutorial here: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=21379&hilit=plugin&start=30 Subdivide and smooth (now Artisan) http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=34868&hilit=plugin can also be used to achieve such results, but it will take some playing with to understand how to create proxy's.

hi dave thanks for your input, much appreciated does the attached provide you with the information that you require? reading left to right; 1 + 2 are system info, 3 is SketchUp info - do I need to make changes to the latter? have checked drivers + all up-to-date I'm afraid I can't find anything about OpenGL support in Start > Settings > Display...
