    Yes, and the line is correct: <unit meter="0.02539999969303608" name="inch" /> but I tried some more exports and moved around the geometry to see which entries in the collada-file changed. One line (perhaps something like the origin of the group?) had very small values in the original file: <matrix>2.775557561562893e-015 -1 0 2.314960629921188 1 2.775557561562893e-015 0 -7.105427357595022e-015 -0 0 1 -2.775557561561001e-017 0 0 0 1</matrix> and changed to: <matrix>1 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 1</matrix> after moving the group around and back to the origin. So I think the problem was not the geometry itself but the position of the group relative to the origin?!

    Hi Cotty. it was just a simple block model, the outline extruded and further extrusions to create the roof, so I just decided to place the window opes and noticed when removed the rectangles that the inner face of the block model was gone. I just thought it might be a quicker way to model rather than pulling up the external walls, it's not causing any grief I was just wondering is this usual with sketchup, thanks for your reply

    Three years ago, I made this model to test DC and my trigonometry knowledge. I bring out it to show my students the wonder of SU Dynamic Components. But... After the divide by zero problem we talk in this thread, I have a new problem with SU 2015 (on Windows 7 and 8 64): it seems that there are any problems with very small numbers. That's what happen when I roll and unroll the bridge on SU 2015 : [image: mSXi_SU2015.jpg] That's is the good position after the sams operation on SU 8 : [image: heoT_SU8.jpg] If I explore components, I find it : [image: sYJj_DC_SU2015.jpg] An error is highlighted on a very little number with a negative exponent e-6. Is the result of a COS calculated in the formula. Perhaps SU DC don't understand this way to write a number and consider it like a text... Perhaps... Some one have same issue with this model or other DC ?

    You could try pasting a camera into the .dae [edit it with Notepad++ or similar plain-text editor] <camera name="eyepoint"> <optics> <technique_common> <perspective> <yfov>45</yfov> <aspect_ratio>1.33333</aspect_ratio> <znear>0.1</znear> <zfar>1000.0</zfar> </perspective> </technique_common> </optics> </camera> add the value for the Sketchup.active_model.active_view.camera.fov add aspect_ratio as Sketchup.active_model.active_view.camera.aspect_ratio IF it's set, BUT if it's not [==0.0] then use say 1.33333 ? Then add znear and zfar set the view limits in 'current units'. Paste the code inside the main .dae files code here near the end [?this_is_a_guess?] </scene> HERE </COLLADA> I don't have the faintest idea what I'm doing but it might work ???

    Do with the information? The only thing I will do as a direct result of getting an answer is having the wikipedia page changed. After all, we want wikipedia to be as accurate as possible now, don't we? I should mention that I am developping a SU plugin that involves using the CGAL library (Minkowski sums, boolean operations, envelopes...) and though knowing weather SU uses CSG is not imperative for my project it certainly helps me have a better understanding of how SU works under the hood.

    Thanks! That helps. I was finding that as I moved the cursor around the circumference, the midpoint of each facet was displayed. I don't think I've ever seen the midpoint that corresponds to the axis orientation, but I'll play with it some more. Dave

    I was really more curious about why than getting a fix. I edited the "solid" version with the open face, by deleting 1 line of the round hole and redrawing that 1 line. The face re-formed and the object is now a proper solid.

    Thank you again DD. It works fine now I learned a lot from this. I am testing to make a menu system. I guess there will be problems if I wanted to implement another choice of depth of shelves and endwalls(Stige) into this model due to the holes..?

    It's not a SU problem. And, I've never heard of Windows coming out of sleep without user intervention (unless you've got wake-on-lan, etc turned on). Something you're doing or not doing is causing this issue. I'm not sure why you seem to have been resistant to closing SU at the end of the day. That would have explicitly forced you to save or discard your work.

    I dont understand where is the problem... If I make a component copy inside an other component, rotating, moving and scaling the copies work. Test.skp Can you send your SKP file to see the problem ?

    i may be a bit late to the conversation, but I use both the small version (at home) & the pro version (at work). They work great, but use them a lot more when Im in 3ds max, or when I need to get really close on my model in SU and the mouse just isnt cutting it. I honestly dont use many of the shortcut buttons on the pro version so if your on a budget, the $99 one will do just fine. Hope that helps
