Star trek is quickly becoming a real fact by 3d printing; Warp Drives Proof; By James Cochran; page 1: Warp speed: So here we are '"Warp Drives", "Hyperspace Drives", or any other term for Faster-than-light travel is at the level of speculation, with some facets edging into the realm of science. We are at the point where we know what we do know and know what we don’t, but do not know for sure if faster than light travel is possible' I say Hyperspace travel can be done by two warp engine mounted simular to that of the star trek interprise. Now is light travel possible? -if I say no, we can stop right now, but if say yes than I must prove it. Frist my hypothesis statement that you can traveling faster than speed of light. Second hypothesis statement is my proof that I can prove it with elementry mathematics, with simple primitive geometry of space and with matter/energy of modern physicis. see page 2 next week

Thanks Dave- you were right! I didn't realize that I was importing as a texture (had been doing that earlier and didn't think to change it back when importing). This forum is great! Thanks! Clem

@dave r said: Do you use LayOut at all? Thanks for the reply. Intermittently. Primarily as a means to export 3D views of SketchUp models, not for CDs which come out of AutoCAD LT in my workflow. LO generates a much better image quality than Rhino so sometimes I'll import my Rhino work to create perspective views out of LO. Therefore, none of the big improvements of the last release affect me much.

3D Printing is for Housewares! These mini keg shotglasses are 3D printed in ceramic powder, then glazed and fired in a kiln. [image: M3pY_CeramicKegShotglass.jpg] [image: cYNm_KegShotglass.jpg] This is a tea candle holder that I made as a gift for my sister in 2010. She still uses it almost every day! Printed in SLS nylon. There is TIG's 2D tools suite, one of which is Fillet. You can also set it to do a chamfer, I believe.

Could you walk me through how to do that? Im new to these more advanced shapes. It was segmented a lot more and made it very difficult to do the extruding so I used a WELD plugin to take the segment out of the line......maybe that was a poor choice

At the suggestion of someone else here, I've used WizMouse to manage that scrolling function.

@3dgraffiti said: Stats: edges 4630869 faces 2048718 component instances 121074 groups 58621 component definitions 150 I think there is your problem: the outliner has to sort through 121.074 components + 58.621 groups. I can't imagine it has been build /optimized for those high numbers. No idea what to limit is though...

Thanks john- so far no luck reproducing it. But i was jumping back and forth between Layout and SU, Thea and photoshop so maybe this had something to do with it. Weirdly, the color palettes list is available is Layout as Jeff pointed out. So maybe something switched it on and the pref carried over to SU. (i dont really know what i am talking about here) IF i can reproduce will post the process. thx again, And

I think one can say... depends! It really depends on what changes you are talking about and what your mesh looks like now. You can free-form model some detail or you can scale parts or whole. Look at Vertex Tools. But often it is actually faster to go back to get a new smooth mesh based on your outlines, especially for the sort of shape you describe.

I went into the settings for Mystic Thumb and discovered it had a "file overide" enabled. Unchecking it made SU2014 to open skp by default.
