Could it be a plugin/extension in 2018 causing the issue, that is not in 2020?

I would recommend using 2021 if possible. There has been a lot of 'under the hood' improvements with bug fixes etc.

Also be aware that edits can break a curve apart into individual segments, losing its original identity as a single curve. In that situation pushpull will generate unsoftened edges from each segment end. You can use the eraser tool to soften them afterward.

You aren't painting a group or component are you?

Thanks Piloe, its the result of an intersection with two solids from a topographic survey but its a complete mess. I just spend 3 hours to do it manually and finally managed to get a clean solid (joint push pull V) I guess there is no easy way when you get a shape like this

Which weld extension are you referring to? Is this different that the built-in Weld feature? It would be helpful if you shared a file that shows this behavior.

You can use the 3D Text tool to put text on faces in the model. Keep in mind that it can add lots of geometry and bloat your model file. Or you can use the Text tool to add labels that have leaders anchored to faces.

I still not 100% sure what are you trying to get.
Understand: You can drape any object on any surface. If z values are not ok, then adjust the surface

When I tried that I was able to open my model file but only in read-only mode. I went to my File Explorer and clicked on it to open and was able to edit the model and save it.

Don't have any idea what I did to start.

TIG has such plugins i think. Go to 'PluginStore' here, filter plugins by author (TIG) and read descriptions.

I just did. Unfortunately I can only select one Operating System though I have both, Mac and Windows available to work with. I selected Windows as I guess this is the less limiting variant - I saw at least some extensions only available for Windows.

I load my files from these servers and save them there as well. When I am in the office, I have the server right around the corner. At the moment, however, I have been in home office for a few months. (as already mentioned, before SkUp 2021, this phenomenon never occurred for me)

Probably because the component you have created was initially locked an axis.
Select the definition in the Component-Browser and Edit it to remove its 'axial-locking' [aka 'Glue-to'].
You could also select an instance and edit its 'axial-locking' [aka 'Glue-to'] in its right-click > context-menu...

... again an other simple playing with geometry, done with a set of equal cube-components (21 x 21) and it´s transformation options. Here again using Alexander Schreyer's "Scale By Tools" plugin for their automated pyramid-like distribution. After that I essentially used Julia Eneroth's so cool plugins "Random Select" to form random groups, which I made unique each time and "Erode" to achieve any "rocklike" appearance. To let the whole thing "wobble" a little bit, additionally Chris Fullmer's "Random Rotate" was used. [+ SketchUp 2017 Make / Enscape]
