Rich, definitely a command dialogue interface.. I am a newbie to rendering so forgive my naivety. OK So I went to the official maxwell forums and found out that the easiest way to automate a series of renderings through the maxwell software is via a simple script.. Point 5 on http://support.nextlimit.com/display/mxdocsv3/SketchUp+FAQs?_ga=1.169530145.1813411637.1480071096 Script is pasted into the script dialogue box and let to run.. Hey presto! I can't believe I stayed awake all night to manually start each render!

Thank you for the reply Rob. Unfortunately iOS does not support the program you've suggested. I guess it's not the V-ray part I'm stuck on... yet! Just finding a catalog of files i can successfully download onto iOS. and once downloaded, finding a way to view them.

@pbacot It was indeed a black hole. The whole building was a group and I accidentally painted the whole group with a dark material. So all the standard (white) material was replaced. I also replaced the glass material with another one. I'm pretty happy with the result now. [image: MB61_straatkant.jpg]

It looks like you turned off the Double Sided. Go to Light List>>Select Vray Light>>Option>>Check on Double Sided.

Hey good job so far on these extensions - you're off to a good start. However, please read up on using namespace modules to protect your methods from over-writing or being over-written by other same-named methods from other extensions (yes, it has happened.) Read this to start: http://www.thomthom.net/thoughts/2013/02/sketchup-plugin-checklist/ Dan has put together a much more comprehensive collection of links: http://forums.sketchup.com/t/ruby-learning-resources-wikilists/22861

you should have that same texture in the diffuse, then you can see it in sketchup viewport so you can uv-map it with tru-paint, sketchUV or something then turn off texture in the vray diffuse.. it should work.. (that's basically how it works in 3dsmax vray.. if i'm not wrong there is some trick to do the same in vray4SU, like adding the texture to a second diffuse layer and then assignign transparency to it or something like that)

[attachment=0:2lpq4snm]<!-- ia0 -->Capture.JPG<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:2lpq4snm] Thank You so much for posting this screenshot. All this while I was fiddling with the GI setting in the environment tab. Thanks for bearing with me. I now entered "zero" as the values in saturation and I'm getting white finally at last. I'm a novice and a dummy when it comes to v-ray. It's been four years and I still haven't been able to get grips on this rendering plugin. But now life seems good with v-ray.

http://youtu.be/YlCQcwxTRfc?list=PLuzXmzWDJs5DtoNdg3rSR-rRPnVcGr25L Physics-based - all computations regarding lights, whether natural or artificial, as well as all materials, their definitions and properties, are not emulations or simulations but designed as algorithms based on the real and natural world. For example, artificial lights use IES standards and Lumens as units; the Sun's setting depend on time, day, geographic and environmental conditions such as types o cloud or fog; cast shadows are not set as "soft" or "hard" but are produced according to actual lighting conditions; materials behave as expected according specific properties and types of finishes... Real-time - depending on the hardware (required an nVidia GPU with a minimum of 500 CUDA cores) and on the complexity of the model, the software responds interactively - the user suffers no wait-time or latency allowing to make design decisions regarding lights and materials on the fly, moreover what you see is always what you get, meaning that the quality of the output depends on user... Hardware scalable: the more and the better the GPUs, the faster results. Unicorn is the only application in the market, so far, that use a local rendering mode or can handle a remote server, render-farm, with four or more video cards... Finally, Unicorn is a rendering compositing tool: it supports the import of up to 45 different file-formats: simply drag and drop into Unicorn a file from Revit, SketchUp, MoI/Rhino, Maya, Blender, or, etc. The user can edit in the native 3D modeling application any of the models and simply re-import it; Unicorn retains the material settings already assigned to the original geometry thus updating the composition, again, in real-time...

Thx for the advise. I'll keep it in mind. I finally got it the way I want. I added an extra omni light. I read somewhere that it can occur when there's not enough light. The result [image: 9tnD_bathroom.png]
