OK, so I did some more digging. The setup I explained above will work fine, but it seems that two of the mentioned new low end machines will outperform the three custom built machines (some new parts some second hand parts) above, and will cost less than the three. My mistake the first time around. So guess which way I'm going... So it looks like I've solved the question regarding how well the setup will perform, questions regarding interoperability between OS's & KTe2008 versions remain. Topic over at the KT forum.

@vrai said: Hello there !! Kerkythea website has been closed for a while, and I desperately need some stuff from the site for my renderings. Does anyone of you still keep those libraries and would like to share them with me ? Thank you !! http://www.kerkythea.net/cms/index.php/downloads (the site is under rebuild, but some downloads are available) Correct forum links to earlier materials. Keep in mind that the post was from 2008! And sorry, no idea if those posts actually contain anything relevant as the repository is in different location and like said, some materials are still missing. OK, I've just tried again and funnily it said I entered either a wrong username or my password was wrong. I use FF and I make it remember my login data on my home computer (only). I looked there and there was "Gaieus" but there were way less *s for the password than my normal one. I re-entered my password and it finally let me in (I actually checked my password manager in FF settings and there the correct password showed). Anyway, I'm in. I hope you guys didn't have a hack again!

Guys, I have the same problem. I can't understand how I can use .vismat files. I explain my steps and my problem: i built a wall i downloaded a material from the site called "brick-wall_red" ( a .zip file where there are 2 .png files and 1 .vismat file.) i create a new material in sketchup meterial editor using one of these .png (one of these shows the red brick and the other grey brick and i chose the first one). so from the zipped folder i choose one.png file. i set everything in terms of scale and proportion and it is fine.the name of the new material is "brick red" right click and i linked the material in vray. now in vray editor i have "linked_brick red" now on in bump i link the other .png 8.i have the material "brick-wall_red" i don't think it is the best way. it is too weird. I have read also that when you link the material in vray material editor (my step 6) then right click on the linked material, "import" and there you can put the .vismat file. I have tried but I see everything grey. any idea to help me?? thank you very much. stef.

Re MEMORY STICK This should be possible. You should be able to copy the contents of C:\Program Files\Render Plus Systems\3D_PDF onto a memory stick, place it into a computer and run skp_to_3d_pdf.exe from the memory stick. We will give it a try. However, I can think of a few problems. Some Visual Studio DLL's may not be on the target computer. If we discover what they are, then they can be copied onto the memory stick and that may work (or we may have to create a new release of 3D PDF with the missing DLLs) You will not be licensed to run RPS 3D PDF on the target machine. I don't know how we will solve this problem. We can discuss it after you get the comcept working properly. There are 2 other solutions to the general problem. You can "remote log in" to your own computer, which is licensed for RPS 3D PDF from the client machines, run RPS 3D PDF remotely, load a file from the client machine and process it. You can bring your portable computer with you to the client location, put the .SKP file from the client machine onto your portable, and use your portable to create the PDF file.

Without a lot more detail, or even a SKP, we are guessing - e.g. perhaps you are holding your tongue wrongly

This brings to mind the stemless, round bottom glass that is new on the market. It will tilt and you can even spin it, but it wont spill, supposedly. From the looks and feel of it, the bottom interior thins as it rises, giving all the weight to the bottom, it seems.
