      Well, experimenting with dielectric glass materials... It seems that when it comes to render, you really need to care about poly count on one hand. On the other, I just cannot figure out why those black lines are on the "leg" of the glass and those white sparkles on the "foot".

      Could go on with playing but in the meanwhile I got thirsty as well ๐Ÿ˜’ Plus a friend has just told me that he's going to be a father. So I leave trhis now as a WIP

        Hi Gaeius,

        Hem hem, as a french I couldn't resist to tell you that your glass will break shortly, having a soooo thin "leg" and a soooo small "foot. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

          it seems like the 'foot' doesnt have thickness.. in KT to correctly use the dielectric glass u gotta use thickness... or else use the thin glass shader.. but then u wont get caustics or dispersion with think glass shader! ๐Ÿ˜‰

            Hm... The glass actually exists (and I have one form the Medoc region that has an even thinner leg compared to the "body")
            But yes, surely it looks a bit weird (and I don't like using them for this uncomfortable feeling that they will break any time).

            It does have a thickness (though not too much).

            Thanks guys anyway, it's just a matter of playing around. I didn't even want to show this off at the KT forums (good we have this "little sister" forum here ๐Ÿ˜„)

              This brings to mind the stemless, round bottom glass that is new on the market. It will tilt and you can even spin it, but it wont spill, supposedly. From the looks and feel of it, the bottom interior thins as it rises, giving all the weight to the bottom, it seems.
