I'd like to know how to create your own custom model library in KT. I see somebody has done it before (the KT plants 1 & 2) and I have some stuff I'd like to add into my own library section (-s) so I can later use it in KT (seeing that KT imports the model & textures correctly but SU somehow loses the textures - so I am looking at this workaround) and possibly with some instancing at some point.

I had a quick look over at the KT forum, but didn't find an answer to this.

Hopefully someone can point me in the direction of the tutorial.

You can save a model in KT. If you then copy it into the Kerkythea/Models folder it will appear in the Insert -> Model menu.

Is this what you are asking?

Bob, yes - more or less. Have a look at the way the KT plants V1 & V2 was done, that is what I want to do with the content I bought from 3D Plants.

            Hi Juju and Greyhead...
well, it's not so simple... but something like Greyhead said.

I'm hoping Kim Fredrik will make a quick tut. for how to create your own model pulldown in KT. I can't do it now.

            maybe see this post?

And THANKS for making this, CadFather..!! 👍

                Cheers

That's a good tutorial. I'm glad to see that I was on the right track but there are a few steps that I would never have worked out for myself.

In brief outline: import the models, group them, set the axes (gizmos in KT?), create thumbnails, save the scene as a material library then move to the models folder.

Here's a great text description tutorial by Frolfer12, and a link to the video tutorial for watching it directly.
