We are aware that activation emails aren't getting sent out and are looking for the cause of the issue as we speak.

No, just remove the material from the outside of the group/component. Apply material to faces instead.

What format are the texture images? Might be that they are of a format which SU supports, but V-Ray doesn't.

So it is, slightly under whelming but very tempting at the same time. Could cover the cost of my shiny new indigo license

We have uploaded a new version of NprTools- IF16. See: Downloads This version has combined Soft Shadows and Sketchy Shadows into a single tab dialog - which uses the same settings for both and which should also be easier to use. We have also added some radio button presets for Shadow Softness and Spread which should make it easier to get the desired effects. (After adding lots of options to let you control shadow softness, patterns, intensity, and other things the application has become rather complex. These radio settings will make it easier to get started. However you can still adjust iterations, days and times as desired in Custom mode.) [image: Soft-Shadows-Dialog.jpg]

TBD, Thanks for looking into it. It appears the problem had nothing to do with LightUp. It is solved now but I still don't know what was actually causing it. I don't remember which script was the last to be installed. MIght have been FreeScale update or Chris's Perpendicular face or some other. I started uninstalling scripts one by one in alphabetical order (using Ashampoo Uninstaller) aiming to completely reinstall SketchUp. I would try to fire up SketchUp every now and then, and it suddenly stopped bugsplatting! I don't have any tyime at the moment to look more closely into it, maybe later. The toolbars were all over the place when SketchUp finally did open. It seems coincedental that bugsplatting started on the last day of LightUp Demo. It might have something to do with what registry entries Ashampoo Uninstaller saved after LightUp installation. I would have moved toolbars around to place LightUp toolbar where I wanted it. So perhaps when Ashampoo reverted back to pre-LightUp state it also removed some of those registry entries relating to the new toolbar positions of OTHER scripts.

There is always the concern that if you use some small name codec, that your users will then have to download and install that codec in order to view your videos. Keep that in mind, Chris

Thanks, BTM If you decide to upload all 12, in a zip file (which would be easier for me - since I can download all 12 at once), then name them 1,2,3,4 for each type. (Criss-cross shadows require that the various patterns go up by 1, e.g. if xxx1.jpg is the first criss-cross, then xxx2.jpg needs to be the second. Also, if you have the opportunity to easily save them as .png files, then that will improve the quality of the product that much more - by not having to deal with the loss of quality with .jpg compression.) Also, when you get your copy of the product, and try them out and if you want to change them, all 12 images are stored in a folder - (It will actually be called: C:\program Files\Render Plus\RpTools\appl\NprTools\Images ) Other users - you will be able to select any group of images of you own for use as patterns as well. I personally use kerkythea not only because I like the rendering engine, it also lets you add as standalone models and other things directly to kerkythea without being in the sketchup model, making this a lighter, add birds because many models (trees and cars by example) greatly hinders the work in sketchup, speaks directly to the Gstaad ekrkythea me the quality and can be reached VRay quality also, quite clearly known. I am waiting for the moment the new version!

By unchecking the "Visible" flag for the material in the Material Editor, you will also loose the shadows... The object won't cast any... Oops, I got confused by the pop-up message. I should have checked, sorry [image: 6qn7_2009-04-25_075124.jpg]

I currently have AutoScreenRecorder (Free) on. So far I like it. Certainly the pro has more options.

My whites never go higher than RGB 220,220,220...(in any render engine). The fryrender one cleared up after 5 hours, but I admit that I prefer Indigo's color bleeding much more. Fry: Pure sky [image: fry-sky.jpg] Fry: Sky + sun....Fire flies [image: fryrender-sun.jpg] I always have the feeling that Fry is faster because it has more bias? The Indigo output clearly has more bleeding and color depth going on, as if the light bounces of several times more.....at the expense of longer render time? As a side note: In Indigo, having the option to control sun and sky seperately should be implemented. In other words, the direct sun light should get its own 'layer' to blend.

Getting rid of geometry which doesn't effect the scene - including reflection and shadows - is always a good idea. Layers are find too - and you can just turn off the layers for each view.-- The trees work in Revit - we haven't added ground cover yet. I'mm stil waiting to see if the large model renders. These large models aren't very fast.

@thomthom said: I can't see, at the moment, any use of adding a pattern to line edges. I think the difference between patterns and using a lighter edge color are subtle. However, there may be times when they can be useful. Here is a sample of the steps from this white house, using normal (thin) edge lines (upper left) and making them light grey in SketchUp (upper right), 50% mask and 50% transparency (lower left) and 50% mask, 75% transparency (lower right). The images are extracted as a detail from a larger model at the top and then blown up 4X at the bottom so you can see how the transparency and masking works. [image: WH-detail.JPG] I have put some larger examples on the RPS Wiki Here is the whole image with 50% masking and 75% transparency: [image: WH-small-4.jpg] And the same image with light grey edge lines in SketchUp [image: WH-small-2.jpg] Again, the difference are subtle, but there may be uses for them.
