The only way I have found to work the conversion of Sketchup to Vue is not using the plugin of e-on software, or exporting to obj. Artlantis is the only way i found that work.. Open the sketchup file in Artlantis, export it to obj and import from that file into Vue, work perfectly without it being the classic heavy file or misplaced textures. Who would have thought that Artlantis is the best way to use Vue for sketchup. regards nacho

Did you check to make sure your faces are front facing? It could also be a bug with emissive materials. I am not sure because I have never run into this problem because I say clear of emissive materials for the most part.

Ok let’s start with the native SU before we get onto the VRay. Couple of things: You need to pay attention to the front and back faces. (front – white , back – blue). VRay materials should only go on the front faces. The front faces are for external surfaces so with a brick wall for example, the outside (the bit you see) should be white and the internal (the bit you don’t) should be blue. http://support.google.com/sketchup/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=115427 Your model needs to be all white inside the church. The attached file (stage feb 24 edit Monochrome.jpg) shows what faces need to be changed. [image: F1Rt_stagefeb24editMonochrome.jpg] You need to keep up with purging the unused materials, components and styles. I ran a purge and the attached file (Purge.jpg) shows how much unused stuff was in it. The files is greatly affected, the file you sent was 20mb and the purged file is 4mb. [image: ZRK2_Purge.jpg] On to the projectors screens: The reason they weren’t working is because they had been applied to ā€˜back faces’. I have attached some file that should help explain it. This image show that on is not working but the other is. (Screen 1.jpg), the corresponding SU export shows the one not working is applied to a blue face. (Monochrome 1.jpg) [image: 0cVv_Screen1.jpg] [image: BXJb_monochrome1.jpg] As you can see in (screens.jpg) they are both working and the SU export shows that they are both front faces (monochrome 2.jpg) [image: yzFH_Screens.jpg] [image: yLcI_monochrome2.jpg] I have attached the reduced file as well as the packed material. Hope that helps. TRJ - stage feb 24 edit.zip TRJ - TV screen.zip

"Whoa, I only speak two languages, English and bad English"...Bruce Willis Beside the fact I cannot speak russian, metric is not terribly useful in this country either...in less your a chemist. I would pay real money for a piping program that works. Amazes me nothing has been developed for this. Sketchup has some great features, but it really sucks for anything mechanical. They should develop this if the want to keep beating down autocad.

I bet you could achieve this effect by rendering a small portion of the modeled material and take than alpha mask and use that as a glossiness map in refraction? Quite the challenge.

This is how it's done. click on dmg and when you see it mount click on the word Kerkythea, to see Kerkythea .pkg right click show package contents, click om contents. find Archive.pax.gz and unpack it to either apps folder or new folder in my docs and call it KT or something, there you will see folders for material, globales, and more. To start KT you will need to click on Unix icon Kerkythea (not Kerkythea.ini) this will open program.BUT to open a SU file in KT you will need SU2KT 3.17 0n this page http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=42&func=select&id=7 and install it like any other plugin. When you export your first SU model it will ask you where is unix Kerkythea, navigate to folder where all the folders and unix icon Kerkythea are if you followed this procedure it will work for any ver. OSX if you have ? or problems report back here. Believe me when I say I lke KT it's powerful it's FREE but you got a lot of learning and reading to do to get good at it You might want to try Twilight render written by the same folks as KT and big brother Thea render. There's lots of people here that use it and KT has a decent forum but not as it was back in 2007 and 2008 Walt

Thanks tomasz, sorry if I shouted, it wasn't my intention... I'm beginner in forums use, so I'm still learning... it will no happen again About the exportation problem. I tried to save in a location I have full access to, and I tried to save it without specifying the extension. Still nothing. By the way, I'm working in Mac, I don't know if it makes any difference. I posted this question a month ago in Kerkythea forum, but I didn't get response, that's why I'm trying now here. Anyway I'll try it again. Any idea? Thanks again.

Well I'm not really sure on a Vray setting side, but in Photography the way to fix that would be by doing 2 or more exposures, one for proper interior lighting and one for proper exposure of the window and then combine them in photoshop or other HDR program.

Hi I apologize for reviving an old post, but I'm not sure how to start a new one in a relevant group. I can't seem to find a discussion group on Maxwell Render either. The technical issue I face - When I apply an emitter material on a grouped object, and I flip/mirror this object, the emitter fails to work. [image: 0J7H_z_emiiterissue.jpg] In the attached picture, "A" shows the original group. Emitter works fine. "B" shows the original grouped copied to the left. Emitter works fine too. "C" shows the copied group on the left flipped horizontally. Emitter blacks out. Is anyone else facing this same issue? Wondering if there's a workaround for this. This issue caused problems when I'm rendering cars. One headlight emits light, but the headlight on the flip side of the car does not light up. I tried exploding, regrouping, making the component unique, reapplying emitter texture to the flipped group - nothing worked so far. But this problem doesn't seem to affect other textures, like the red paint I applied in the demo cube shown in the above attached image. I'm using Mac OSX 10.10.5, Sketchup 2016, Maxwell Render 3.2, on Mac Pro 5,1. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Best regards

Thanks for the tips guys. I couldn't (and can't) post an image of the final result, since there's some secretkeeping of the design involved for now. Perhaps in a few months. Anyway, the biggest problem in this story was mainly the guy who commissioned it didn't quite know what he wanted and inadvertently took it out on me, telling me every time I had rendered something, that it looked wrong. Finally we settled for using a really plain, modelled plank, just plain colour and a simple groove. Thanks for the link Valerostudio, to that arroway thingy. I'm sure it will be useful in a later project I knew the site of course, but I just found out this time around that they have downloadable samples. Quite a handy thing, especially with the people I work with... always changing their minds... As to the creating of bump maps etcetera; I'm quite adept at that already, but it's a nice video to watch nonetheless. Always a pleasure to see someone working at something they're good at.
