    • RE: [Plugin] Animator - v4.5a - 22 Jul 25

Is there a way to save the frames as jpg instead of png? I am rendering using vray, and saving as png does not save the background information. I am hoping the animation could show the background so I can show how the exterior looks thru windows.

    • saving as jpg, not png?

Hello. I am a new user, and am trying to generate my first animation. I am using a dome light w/background, but it does not show up in animator, since it is saving as png image files. Is there a way to change to jpg?

    • Could you help me build a PC to render Vray/Sketchup??

Good morning all. I am shopping for a pcbuild, and am unsure what I need.

I am an archvis draftsman. Currently, I use a renderfarm to render vray / sketchup projects, but would like to render in-house to save $$.

The renderfarm states that it takes 2 hours of CPU time @60 ghz for one of my typical renderings. I do not know what this means, or how it should enter into my pcbuild equation.

I understand that Vray 2.0 uses CPU to render. Does that change in 3.0? How should I treat the differences as I consider what to buy?

My budget is $1,000 if I have to keep outsourcing to the render farm.

BUT if I an render in-house I will spend $2K.

Is it possible to build a PC capable of rendering FAST like a renderfarm for 2K? Do any of you have any options as to what I should do/purchase?? I have no idea what I need...

      THANK YOU!!!

    • New laptop - DR not responding issues???

Good morning all. I recently added a new laptop to my office. I am running Vray for sketchup on a Win 7 desktop. The new laptop is windows 10. The server finds the host fine, but when it renders I am getting an error that says the "render host is not responding". Is there anything I can do to fix this?

    • RE: Does anyone know of a renderfarm that works with Vray/SU?

Thank you for your response. That was what I was afraid of. I tried to do the DR, but my "client" wouldn't connect to the server. I had started the spawner on the server, and then tried to connect, but no luck. Thank you!

Hello all. Does anyone here know of a renderfarm that works with Vray for Skecthup? I have been trying to find one that works resaonably well, but have not had any luck. Any insight would be appreciated!

    • How to have more than one transparency map?

Hello all. I am trying to create a material that has more than one transparency. I am working on a painted material that would have a crackled finish, along with dings and dents, and wear on the corners.

Currently I have one diffuse layer, which holds the color information of the material, as well as "dirt".

I have another diffuse layer which has a "dings and dents" texture, and is applied as a transparency. This works perfectly.

The next step in this material is the crackled finish. I have created another diffuse layer, and imported the bitmap using the same method as the "dings and dents" layer. However, I cannot get the crackle to show up on the material.

      Any ideas?
