Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

These should help (from SU5...I don't know if you get the same warnings in SU6). This drove me NUTS when I first started! But the logic is sound: SU is saving you from accidentally drawing coplaner faces...makes you do some grouping on purpose. (There's another little bit of nightmare if you group an edge adjoining 2 faces with one of the faces, then put the group on a hidden layer...you can't draw a second visible edge over the hidden one: you'll have to move the group so SU draws it for you :`) [image: JnBE_Image1.jpg] [image: UjBx_Image2.jpg] [image: jcBQ_Image3.jpg] [image: PP6G_Image4.jpg] [image: KP4Q_Image5.jpg]

Youcant import it directly in to SU, but from my very brief research you can import it in to blender, from there you should be able to export it as something SU can read, like 3ds.

tancredi, if I understood your post correctly, you moved your camera, created an image export, then moved your camera again, creating another image export... if you want a simple movement, use scenes (windows > scenes) to set up some views. then you have to adjust the transition speed of the scenes (under View > Animation > Settings). and finally export the animation under File > Export > Animation (under options you can choose to export it as an image sequence...) if you already knew all this, I am sorry - shame upon me - but I mean to understand that you are looking for something simple.

gaganraj, You're correct, this isn't the best spot! But to answer your question, SKUP doesn't have the viewport functions of AutoCAD, however, you can use the scenes function to flick between different views. In Window/Model Info menu, untick the "enable Scenes transistions" option in the animation section. Then in the Scenses tab, untick all the options apart from Camera location, then create a scene, move your position & create another. You can then start a command & flick between the views mid-command - try doing that in ACAD!

@emmomac said: I also spotted the GE option in another post. Never even thought of that as an option Emmett, Is this what you're looking for? http://www.twharvey.talktalk.net/index.htm On this page click the Fly to button and the scene changes to the intended models. In this sample, there are five seperatem SU models that make up the whole package. Let me know if you need more info. Tom

Hi Simon, I'm not sure what you want either. If you want to display an SU model, you can put models into a Google Earth window inside your web page. Once there you can use the GE Navigation Controls to move around the model in 3D. Have a look at the topic below: Google Earth Plugin at http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=11115&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a. If that's what you're looking for, you can see a sample of this at: http://www.twharvey.talktalk.net/index.htm Good luck, Tom

THX to deathcloud and basic.woodwork for your replies. In fact, The SketchUp freeversion ist the most designed viewer, but I experienced that a lot of people facing such Images are quite disappointed when using 3D program. They have to learn first how it works. ( Let's remember our first try with Microsoft Office ...) That why a light viewer would given less pain... As far as the Avi is concerned , no possibilities to go deep into the model for technical explanations... Well; I can survive MALAISE

@paul o said: Now it gives me the message "application won't start because AVIFLI32.dll was not found..." Are you sure it's not "AVIFIL32.dll" that's missing? On my Windows XP installation (on PC) I have an "AVIFIL32.dll" but no "AVIFLI32.dll" A Google search of each filename shows very few hits for your quoted filename, while "AVIFIL32.dll" results in MANY hits. I run a PC so I don't know what this means, hopefully you do. But the standard response to this issue on a Mac is to "trash the plist" or p.list or something like that. That seems to do the trick for most Mac users. Chris
