I tend to not save shadow settings with my "camera" scenes. So when I got from scene to scene, it leaves the shadows how I have them set at that moment. Then I have a couple of scenes that just change the shadow settings, but not camera locations. So I can go from scene in whatever shadow mode I have set. And just click a "Shadow" scene to change from morning sun to afternoon sun, to no sun, etc. And its easy to change the settings on multiple scenes at a time. Use the scene manager and select multiple scenes using the shift or ctrl key. Then deslect the shadowsetting and it will deselect it on all selected scenes. Or if you want to just change the current shadows setting on all scenes, then adjust the shadows how you want it, then select all desired scenes, and click update and in the pop up window, select ONLY shadow settings and it will update just the shadows settings of all selected scenes. Scenes are incredibly useful for model management like this. I could do a quick video if my explanation was confusing. Chris

Nope. Still having this problem. Maybe it's a glitch in my vcard driver or something. Just odd that it is not apparent with any other tool bar.

You mean you've downloaded the latest version: Sutool 2012?! I searched the sketchupbbs.com and didn't find instructions about installing on mac...perhaps they didn't make the Macintosh version... Btw I don't use the Sutool, search plugins in this forum, I think it's enough~

Yes, I think zorro2 would be the ideal candidate. Make a simply cube (starting with the rectangle tool) in your model so that you can align the section tool precisely to the faces (i.e. axes) then move it to the perimeters of you tin, right click > slice model at section. Repeat it from all 4 sides.

@solo said: However if I'm correct in thinking that SU2Vue is a 3rd party plugin and not an e-on product, so they will not have it supported/upgradable from your profile page but rather on Cornucopia like all 3rd party content. Send an email to Dave (friendly chap) and he will have you sorted out quick. Dave kindly sent me an email with the update. Very nice of him and I appreciate it. I had also sent requests to Cornucopia to no avail (note the request back in 2010 for version 1.1). It also does not appear on my Cornucopia purchased list or on my e-on purchased list. See how 'heighttool' [?] sets its 'string' and replace the .add_text() in the other file with the 2dtext code using the height 'string' ? Can you explain how you see this being used ... I'm guessing you want 'flat' 2dtext height-tags rather than 'Text'?

@dave r said: Pete, how are you generating your cut list? Are you doing that with CutList 4.1.1? If so, you probably do not want the dimensions or labels inserted inside the components. The plugin reports the dimensions of the bounding boxes of the bottom level components. If those components have things like labels or dimensions included, the bounding boxes will be larger than the actual piece of wood you need to make and thus your cut list will be inaccurate. Dave I use the generate report function of SU Pro and use and excel macro to format the cutlist information the way it works best for our shop. I would be happy to share the macro if anyone is interested.

Maybe you could disable the edge visibility (View/Edge Stile/Edges).

Click on the link in the first message. Then read the directions. He says download and isntall progressbar from smustard.com and his plugin. To "install" a plugin, if it is an .rb file, just drop it into your SketchUp "plugins" folder. If it is a .zip file, extract it to your plugins folder keeping the same folder structure in place that exists inside the zip file. Then restart SketchUp and it will work if you did it right. Good luck, Chris

@thomthom said: Did you do anything with your Tools folder after reinstalling SketchUp? Nope. I loaded everything exactly as they were before. In fact, curiously, all, and I mean all, of my plugins loaded just fine. Except, of course, the unfortunate shadow strings fix.

@involute said: No. I used Eagle by CADsoft. I already had it as I occasionally need to make real PCBs. There was one element that had to be repeated 24 times at intervals of 15 degrees of rotation (I'd include a pic but I can't figure out how to attach or embed, only link, and it's not online). That's just not something you ever need to do in designing a PCB, hence the headache. Obviously a 5 second operation in SU, but with no way to get the design out in Gerber format, I just had to suck it up and carefully tweak each placement in Eagle. Took about an hour to figure out how to do it, then another hour to actually do it. Would've taken much longer for someone to write a script, plus some dough. If this was something I was going to need to do regularly, that would be another thing, but it was strictly a one-off requirement. Thanks again for your looking into it, though. http://eagleup.wordpress.com/installation-and-setup/

I think you might get more answers in the developping forum, asking this. But I'll give it an attempt. NO. You need Webdialog for checkbox. (very sad indeed) I'm guessing no, since we are doing promts. Prompts need to be delt with, and what you are saying you want to do, there is already 1 prompt running when you want to excecute another. Hopefully I'm wrong. However you can have multiple promts succeding each other. For ex(biased info), like Hatchfaces crosshatching. By dropdownlist user selects YES or NO for crosshatching and click OK on the inputbox, who closes. IF you clicked YES for "crosshatching", another different prompt pops up. Stuff like that. You can have a look at the code. TIG helped me with that, so it should be "OK" on that part..
