I checked the .dwg file and when regenerated, the linework intersects in those locations, however, there are gaps when the circles/arcs are simplified graphically, even when using autocad. So, there is an issue importing these elements I did try Didier's projections and Thom Thom's edge tools and still having a heck of a time getting faces formed. Even drawing new lines/edges is not helping. Are there any tricks in prepping the .dwg prior to import that will help?

Very good. Not sure why the problem but it shouldn't be a problem now.

Which graphics card is being used by SketchUp? Changing cards might fix it. Keep in mind that Sketchup 2019 doesn't support the OS version you are using yet. The SketchUp folks recommend not upgrading at this time.

Thanks for chiming, TIG Yes, the planes were on the ground plane; I never thought to check that!!! I guess I've always started generating line work on the ground plane and wasn't aware that even when hidden style is active, two or more planes won't display... I know what I'll do from now on; set my floor level above the GL. Easy fix. Thanks again.

When you say your "account is admin", do you mean your normal Windows user account has admin powers ? That's not the same as running SketchUp while logged into the administrator account, which is a different animal ! and should be avoided... And of course, while logged-in as your normal account you need to do the right-click on the installer's exe and 'Run as administrator'. Otherwise the files/folders installed by SketchUp for its own use, and for your use as 'user' will get unexpected permissions and cause issues... Assuming that your error message is much the same as previously reported - albeit for v2018, when you quote v2019 ? - then something is preventing SketchUp from copying its 'Shipped' extensions from its main Program Files folder to your user Plugins folder in the AppData path...

Good luck. I think if you are still seeing crashes, Vray is the next suspect. Other people have reported issues with Vray so it's a good one to check.

As Didier says, if you have not installed SketchUp correctly all kinds of unexpected file & folder permission issues can appear... To repeat what has been stated in many places before... To fix your installation... Login to Windows as your normal user-account [NOT the specialized administrator account - BUT if your normal user has some admin-powers that is OK] Ensure SketchUp is closed. Find the SketchUp installer's exe file - usually in your Downloads folder. Select its icon, right-click > context-menu > "Run as administrator" When prompted choose "Repair". When it completes retry SketchUp and see if these kinds of issues are improved...

Excellent on the driver update thing. I'm glad that helped. We had a lot of snow back in February and March. I'd have gladly shipped it to you if I could.

You can still install a 'beta' version in the correct way... Or get the latest most current version and install that as I said. Whenever I might have installed a 'beta' version I've done it as I explained and I've never had such problems...

So this didn't happen before last week? Same version of SketchUp you were using before last week? What has changed since then? If you are using the same version of SketchUp, you can count SketchUp out of the equeation. There have been reports of others having trouble with P5000 Quadro GPUs. If you updated the driver and that didn't do it, maybe roll back to one from a month or so back. Have you ruled out the mouse?

This is not a SketchUp bug. This is a deficiency in the graphics drivers. What is the graphics card in your computer? What version of SketchUp are you using? Your profile indicates a version that does not exist. You should update the graphics drivers and see if that helps. Also in SketchUp under Window>Preferences>OpenGL, untick Use Fast feedback.

@cyalumina109 said: Hey TIG I have the same problem now, it crashes just after opening it Crashes immediately after opening are typically related to issues with the graphics drivers. With SketchUp 2017 and later, the graphics card must be up to the task of properly supporting OpenGL. What is the graphics card? Try updating the graphics drivers. If the graphics card is not up to the task, you may need to go back to SketchUp 2016 which has the option to dump rendering duties to the CPU. When you installed SketchUp, did you right click on the installer file and select Run as administrator from the context menu?

Good luck with the toolbars. I've gotten in the habit of installing all programs using Run as administrator.

Also, if you haven't done so in awhile, log out and back in to the Extension Warehouse.

Often this is due to a misbehaving extension. Try turning off all your extensions in the Extension Manager and see if the problem continues. If not, start enabling them half at a time until the issue reappears to isolate the offender.
