The difference is mainly accuracy. Example: two pixels in a "ramp". Bumpmap represents them as a stair. Normalmap tells the engine wich direction they are facing, thus represents them as ramps. Again normal maps are really worth if for game engines as people keep zooming in and normal maps work better, while at still rendering zooming in a lot isn't that usual. Both still show artifacts at subtle bumpiness levels, but that is minimized with higher bit depth images like 16bit or 32bit images

Keep in mind that the different rendering programs each have a "special" way the standard material from SketchUp is interpreted and / or enhanced, but these settings are not compatible with other rendering software, thus you would have to figure out and document an exact way to set various materials / textures in different rendering programs then render them to see how the end results compare.

Guys I have just deleted the link to HDRI"s I posted Sorry but they contain some sort of virus The site is called emotion HDRI"s when to use the HDRI it will do about 6 render cycles and then focus in on a texture and "No Emotion" will be displayed on that zoomed in on texture. Suggest you get rid of anything you downloaded ASAP (edited) That was a false alarm. I do not know what happened with my first render, but I have downloaded a few HDRI;s and rendered with no issues. This lesson must be learned with materials used in particular being essential. Apparently the regulation only requires the outer face to be fire resistant NOT the inner face which strikes me as an epic fail from the start. I am talking about the cladding.

Hi. It was modeled with sub division surfaces in Maya and animated with bones with inverse kinematics. Facial animation was made with blend shapes which is like you create different mouth shapes that you can morph between with sliders. The rain was just particles and I made it so that when the particles collided with the ground another bunch of particles were emitted upwards to simulate water splatter. Everything was rendered with MentalRay that at the time was at the frontline of rendering.
