Put any prog or video on the left SketchUp if it's your favorite 3D prog... Here double sessions of free Krea Real Time Screen for an infinite Ping Pong creative result! A sort of double creative temporal loop! [image: 1757938029734-okay-resized.jpg] Remark the third wheel, normal, it's a concept car! [image: 1757941156216-gif_exo.gif]

I just figured how to do this too! I tried draping a road onto a terrain and tried exporting to google earth.... anyone know why the road didn't show up? I also had drawn a 3d bridge which seemed to make it through the transfer but no roads.
  • Can you do that in SketchUp?

Really incredible what can be done with this tool. I miss some links to architectural projects though, -partially or completely done with SU. Nick Sonder is one good example. What about bigger projects, - anyone?

Hi Pilou, Thanks for this. It certainly is an optimistic view of the world. As an architect I've grown more and more skeptical of clients with these enormous budgets and sense of entitlement! If everyone does their part it's surely attainable - I'm from Africa by the way...

Yeah. . .this so elegant and beautiful I used to work with ol' crow quill pen and India Ink. I always blotched my drawings! So I went to Rapidograph (there's a blast from the past!) of course they were always cloggy and cantankerous. then My water color washes were never as good as his. I can't believe he didn't tape his ground down to a board! dont' even get me started on airbrushes! So . ..with the Whiz bang 'puter photoshop thing. .. I have an "Undo!" key.

My work, and a series of factors in my personal life, has veered me away from SketchUp and the forum for over a year now. But I am starting to ease back into it.

@boofredlay said: Yesterday I was buying a large bag of Purina dog chow at Wal-Mart for Lizzie, our wonderful yellow lab dog and was standing in line about to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog. First thing I thought was "where is your sign and white cane, lady" but decided to go with it...SO....on impulse, I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, and that I was starting the Purina Weight Loss Diet again. I said I probably shouldn't, because I'd ended up in the hospital the last time; but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet; and that the way that it works is that you load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete... so I was going to try it again. I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story to say the least. Totally horrified, the lady asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food had poisoned me. I told her no; I had stepped off a curb to sniff an Irish Setter's aRsE and a car hit us both. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack since he was laughing so hard. Wal-Mart has asked me not to shop there anymore.... The version I know ends this way.-: Were you poisoned by the dog food to get to hospital? No. I was sitting in the road washing my ball5 and got run over.

I might be that rare exception, but I like a bright UI. However, having other options would certainly be nice for everyone.

@rich o brien said: I do something similar in Blender as tests.... [attachment=0:mnnoo7kk]<!-- ia0 -->genome.png<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:mnnoo7kk] It can animate displacement so you get pretty crazy results. Yep thats the one, nice, I didnt know you could so particle displacement in Blender but then again what cant Blender do! If I wasn't such an idiot I would hopefully like to learn that, I am still stuck in the 2D realm of software with the exception of sketchup!

With the level of connectivity in current and future cars I am glad mine is analogue. I agree there are huge benefits but the potential for intrusion is huge and I am not sure there is a truly SAFE car with the level of connectivity required by self drive cars.

@kaas said: @Mike - Seen this review? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws7S5lXw7zk Thanks, kaas, a good review. I wasn't too sure about that flashy trackpad. Its location puts me off. I prefer a central trackpad, ideally to the left of the lower keyboard. Still looking forward to seeing what Apple come up with later in the year. In the meantime, I'd buy an external graphics card set up if it worked seamlessly on the Mac.

1 I am afraid that direct democracy is possible only in local communities, where people know each other eye to eye. I don't think that those in power, those you mentioned would let NET out of their control. Do not forget who created it in the first place. 2 The other problem is - are average people mature enough for democracy? It is not the question of being kind in simple things. That is easy. It is the question of being able to give away of some of the fabricated needs used to buy your vote. The truth is always bitter. "We will bomb somebody far far away, but do not worry about it, it is for their good...and you'll get the part of it, like cheaper gas, better health insurance, a new car, iphone... more human rights so we all be happy! Yeah! Vote for us!" 3 Or like in this movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/?ref_=nv_sr_1
