Same Model - Multiple Render Platforms
-
I would love to know if anyone - with solid experience in multiple render programs has done a test render using the same model on multiple render programs. I am wondering if the cost vs output ratio means anything. Does Twilight Render hold any ground against V Ray or Thea? Or are there other platforms that are comparable. Has to include cost, learning curve, SU/Render platform compatibility, render time, hardware requirements, etc.

It is easy to do such as test yourself using trial software.
There's no fair test as each system is different.

Keep in mind that the different rendering programs each have a "special" way the standard material from SketchUp is interpreted and / or enhanced, but these settings are not compatible with other rendering software, thus you would have to figure out and document an exact way to set various materials / textures in different rendering programs then render them to see how the end results compare.
