@pbacot said: Quite a job! I think I like it better than your other homes, though it has sort of an office building massing. Great work on the video. What software? As far as the video goes, the only thing that is sort of distracting for me is the polished concrete that reflects every light fixture perfectly but nothing else. Thanks pbacot I agree way to much reflection on the concreat, haha I did not know how to tweak the setting at that time its a old video. I have been trying a few new styles, even though the curvy roofs are what I like most I like to venture out and try new styles out side my comfort zone. I also posted a three level curvy roof building that's a design study I'm currently working on. This video was made using lumion 5. All my current houses are rendered using Lumion 6 Its not the best in terms of realism but I can do more with it than with all the other renderers quickly. This is my newest video rendered with lumion 6 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIwUMGaVY9M

Just to end this thread, this is what I entered for the word "Arrival" (April Contest) So my thinking is to post an image that tells a story while being representative of what I do. Bridge building robots..... Thanks! s [image: Penc_Arrival_Stuart_Nielsen.jpg]

Dave, Thanks, I get the other stuff to do. Sometimes doesn't seem like there's enough hours does it ? Took the raw render into Gimp and ran the "Colorize" tool, played with the settings a little in there. Then tweaked Hue & Saturation levels a little. Chuck.

@cuttingedge said: The design of the house is awesome. I agree, The plants and rocks would be better in more random placement and size. Otherwise good. Just a thought. Is the fire tapped directly from the desert for fuel? I am not sure about the fire, i work for a custom home developer in palm springs I will ask about it and get back to you

I have a great (big) book on the Essential Japanese House" all b&W photos. This would fit right in.

Hi Gary i think the arc is to segmented. Use a higher number in your arc. Also consider bevelling the edges for more realism.

I think there's green bleeding on the top of the wall pink and probably you could have a color variation all over the pink... like a huge perlin noise or some grunge. Also the lighting in the image is on reverse wich tells me there's something near the wall top that's obscuring it. It's impressive how close your modelling is and the only things differing it from the original are minor details on textures and edge, roundness, roughness or damage. The architecture is so simple and raw, that those are the details that give your image away... For instance, your window seems almost like contemporary aluminium while Barragan's is clearly rough hand made, probably painted wood/steel and stucco... Yours is an impressive work so far, but the subject is incredibly difficult.

WOW!!! Another amazing storage solution mate! I would say that the bedroom itself as a result of the large robe does seem to be a little small. I really like the way that some of the storage fronts to the bedroom and yet becomes concealed. Really VERY COOL!

solo, I guess I can post the model for a fellow "exile in texas". texture job was the best I could do with thru paint. model was meant to replicate a fiberglass taxidermy mount. have fun with it. Only fooled around for 15-20 mins to get the image I posted. Going to try and play with it some more. Lets see what somebody who's REALLY good can do. bonefish1.skp

Not bad but it is the details that matter. For me it's the choice of wood grain and no bump mapping on any surface. That said, I also have some problems getting Twilight to look good, but that is probably just me not being having enough experience with it.
