I think the NPR model with PR veggies looks really nice in this image. Wonder if a PR sky would overdo it... Agree on the background trees, there's better alternatives for that. All in all, pretty great image.

Well, you could argue that each step is big enough to serve as a landing, since two feet and a walking cane easily fit on each of them, so old people can take that rest.

you have style, the images look good and you will make an impression I am sure. Just some critism, don't take it personally. You could present this design with more power showing just 2 images that are truly different. Then I feel the arcs landing in the middle of the bridge look dangerous or at least unpractical. Tx for posting your well done artwork. Its inspiring to look at. Francois

I'll have a crack with photoshop and see what I can conjoure up! I'll have a trawl around the library for some books on internal design and lighting techniques - there should be plenty as there is a large design department here at the university! I'm thinking of picking up a copy of twilight render, as I understand it's based on the same underlying technology as podium but has a fair few more options that I can play with and tweak around, it has a very attractive price point too ($59) for an educational licence Now all I need is some time to play with it.

UPDATE: I've done all that my current skill set will allow, so i'm sending it off to a mate for him to put the finishing touches on it, then it can be uploaded. It was modelled from pictures, not plans btw.

@hobbnob said: no offense, but what is it? As TIG figured out, it's a bit of a building.

No, cant say I've seen those, definitely fabric, without inflation. For something like that, which is a static display, the design looks good, but will need more of an air tight arrangement.

Thanks. It is one of her drawings from years ago. She turns 10 this month. I did model everything in the room. Even down to the candy pieces in the jar. I used Twilight.

I wonder if I should clarify what my role is in these projects in the Home series. I am primarily the drafter, not the designer. Like any drafter worth a damn I have a little input in the overall design, but I am not the one coming up with the design concept. My job is to draw them and make sure they will stand up when built. Just thought I should say that out loud so that I do not mistakingly mislead anyone. @ rickgrahm: With the amazing renders we see throughout this and other forumns I probably should include a note saying "Not A Render". I too always love to see su models come to life. @ Solo: Small world! Seems everything has been done before. @ lapx: You know, I thought the same thing. I think maybe the overhang should have been bigger & maybe a more substantial freize would have balanced the form. Stone and shingles...can hardly go wrong. @Pyroluna: Thanks, I maybe should have cropped out the porta potty. @ xrok1: That was a conscious decision. The great room has a wonderful view of a marsh and a lake. Placing a deck there would have obstructed that view and lessoned the impact of the large floor to ceiling windows. When one walks through the barrel vault at the entry and into the house they are met with this large view. The covered veranda and patio off the kitchen/dining areas provide connection to the outdoors with the same view without mucking up the great room feeling. That was the thought, and I agree. That ladder leaning on the glass is bothersome...hmmmmm. @ all: Thanks

Has someone translated these trees to skp files. The images files can be made as skp components used interchangably on a tree or used in kerky as an instance. This would be nice.

This pictures can be used for Rorschach test, because I can see the particular part of a female body in each picture . By the way - great job .
