@andybot said: yes, shadows would very much help give yout render some depth. It doesn't look much different than what you can achieve with just a plain SU output. Maybe you can do only a shadow layer from SU and blend it in very lightly in photoshop. how would i do it? won't the SU objects [in raw sketchup export] interfere with my vrayed render jpg file? how are shadows in isolation exported?

You know a render is good when you can hear the clock on the wall ticking.

That's it I'm over it! Not looking at your posts anymore! Every freakin time I just get depressed - 1. I want to visit your scenes and 2. I feel like a monkey's arse as a render artist!

Something in NPR convinces me....I so like it... nice job. We used to do something like this many years back when there were no computers. Works like these are treasures to keep.

By the time PVA glues get to that point, water won't do much for them. It's better not to disturb the glue and don't use so much that you get it running out of the joint away. Yes, if the right joints are used, you could get away without glue.

Thanks Chedda. Yes, the subdivision was to enable a little displacement on the building walls and ground. The house is raised up on a plinth as it's located in an area that suffers from periodic flooding, so there was always going to be a problem with the house being disconnected from the site. Personally I would have preferred to have seen the site softened with a lot of landscaping. All that stark space makes for a dramatic image, but I suspect that it's not easy to live with and could be quite isolating. A lush garden would balance that out I think.

A new use for FEMA trailers. I know that does not translate to Dutch. Don't worry, it is not even funny in the US.

Very sweet. The only thing I would offer is to shift the wood texture a bit on the three so the pattern is not an exact match.

Thanks Steve. Always loved the minimal and clear design of the pen, but didn't know that in 1979 it won one of the most prestigious (in Italy) design prizes. http://ftp.adi-design.org//xi-edizione-premio-compasso-d-oro-adi.html
