Ta, Steve. Not sure about the 'hubcaps' on alloys but they are there on the other hotrod I did some tome ago. Two Fords in fact, one pickup and a SW. https://community.sketchucation.com/topic/164593/1932-ford-model-a-pickup-drop-hotrod https://community.sketchucation.com/topic/161155/ford-model-a-hotrod/20 The flames thing is something I want to do but getting used to new software which is taking a while. Are we going to see anything new from you sometime?

Very nice work, especially that last render- I love the cold light; as Remus said earlier it's very reminiscent of Herzog & de Meuron's Tate Modern or at least it portrays very well the use and feel of concrete and hard materials combined with fluorescent strip lighting. Only criticisms would be that it'd be good to see a few more people dotted around just to make it look a bit more popular and you should reduce the scale of that texture on the concrete columns and beams about 50%- it looks like spray-on foam fire proofing at the moment. I'm curious- what render engines did you use? Irradiance Map primary with Deterministic Quasi-Monte Carlo secondary? The results are excellent but the render time seems very long- perhaps the culprit is the glass doors if they are double-sided with "genuine" refraction? I workaround this by using a zero refraction glass material for the front and back faces of glass and a separate dark green zero refraction glass material for the edges- the results aren't as accurate as yours, but it decreases the render times enormously.[image: zwrT_Table1.jpg]

Thanks for your comment! I know the mech is a bit stiff, I need to move a few joints here and there to simulate some movement. Looking forward to seeing some of your renders!

Nice, you can put it on Clayoquot Sound with this one: [image: freedomcovetofinobc2.jpg] Don't you think she needs a deeper draft?

Thanks cheffey. Mainly trial + error, to be honest. I've found a lot of good inspiration here to: http://www.conceptart.org A.

tom- i've had a lot of luck controlling the intensity of some of the squiggle/wet process with this technique, I will export one stylized jpg and one "clean" jpg (very simple lines/colors), and layer them in photoshop with with clean jpg underneath. Then you can either use a mask on the stylized layer to slowly reveal cleaner areas where you want them, or you can carefully erase the top layer (but you cannot reverse your work this way) you can use different opacities in your erasing as well I've used it here to tone down the jitter on the business man component, but this works great with the other effects as well- if you need to tone down the watery effect in certain areas of detail just layer an unadjusted sketchup output with no lines underneath and reveal it where you want it. Usually I will not reveal it 100% to keep some stylized look in the area [image: tbGS_01.jpg] [image: wAhb_02.jpg] [image: iIvG_03.jpg] [image: dOY0_04.jpg]

The only crit I have with your render is the obvious tiling of the stone texture on the back wall. Apart from that, I think your image is superb, congrats!

@earthmover said: Nomer, I love it. Good work. You achieved a very nice, almost non-photo real look. I especially love the first one. thanks EM. im a bit cxonfused, seems my new LCD montitor is too bright, when i openned this file with another computer, they are too dark. i looked for the adobe gamma to calibrate it but unfortunately its not in the CS3 package. went to adobe site and downloaded it from there. but now the problem i am use too with monitor and now im knsa confused with the brightness. i corrected the levels using PS. what do you think [image: hypershot_dayPS.png] [image: hypershot_night_PS.png]

Yes Bubba that exactly what I meant This last one seems darker than the others to me. There is an odd thing going on around the top edge of the room. Almost like a light source ir something. Just looks a bit out of place. I would say work on lighting the room brighter. What you can do is set up to area lights, both with "ignore normals" OFF. Both should be about 24-30" from the edge of the ceiling. Place one just below the track lighting shining down with shadows on. Place the other 1" below that shining up with shadows OFF. both are to be placed "Invisible" these can be carefully tweaked as to not over power or take away from the affect of the track lights. This will give you more control over the lighting in the room. Scott [image: PM2O_lightingtestsu.png] [image: 0nUf_Lighingtest.jpg]
