Looks great, Solo. Very realistic asphalt (material layers?). Not quite sure anythng is gained by including the same monochrome view in the corner, though.

        My avatar is an anachronism.

Great work! One niggling thing though. The signage looks slightly unrealistic. Can they be tweaked somehow?

              Very nice work Solo.
I especially like the monochrome building 'icon' in the corner. It gives the overall image some architectural character. I too like the variation in the textures you have applied.

              Good Job.

Nice one Pete. I can see why you place the mono Su model in
the corner, I think .... in order to emphasise how you created
                the presentation?

Nice tarmac too that adds realism to the image.

                Mike

Awesome work Solo! I love the Starbucks in the shape of a cup of coffee. It's amazing to me how you always manage to achieve a very similar style of render, regardless of the application. Do you generally use Global illumination or ambient occlusion in Vue?

                    Thanks guys.

Daniel, The asphalt is a texture from CG textures online, I used Image-synth to make it seamless in order to cover a large area, then added bump and a little dirt to it, I also added dirt using a function edit in Vue for the white lines in order to blend. So in answering you, yes I used blended layers. The monochrome image in corner is just an illustration of model for posting here as Mike correctly noted.

Chango, The sign-age can be tweaked as they are 3d components, however I thought they looked okay, which ones look unrealistic?

Robert, The different wall textures are the current trend these days, it gives depth and interest to what would normally be a boring facade.

Adam, Strangely enough I hardly ever use those as they take a month of sundays to render, I try to keep all my renders within the 'Spectral' realm and tweak the 'corona' settings, intensities, decay and overall light colors to create my moods. I just do not have the patience of a render that exceeds an hour to render, the above scene took a few seconds over 11 minutes at 1200 x (something, cannot recall) and 300dpi, I could use a better quality finish with crisper lines, accurate caustics, softer shadows, etc, if it were for publication.

I had an issue with the signs as well when I first viewed the image. Thinking about it though, it is only the the sign to the left of the Game Stop store (One Euro?) which I feel is too small and the blank space on the Starbucks store which makes it look like a vacant store.

There should also be a pavement to the left of the building. People shouldn't have to walk on the road or grass to get from one of the stores to the bank.

                        Johnsenior,

Okay, that sign is 'pro cuts' (hair stylist), easier to see in full size version. as for the Chase bank, yes there probably should be a walkway to it, but being a drive-through satalite bank I did not think it was so important.

Solo, wish I could see your stuff but it's all blocked from my work's internet security.
Can you please consider posting your images somewhere we ALL can see them? Don't you have your own website? why not just put them in a folder there, like I do with mine?
