The Quad Face Tools plugin you suggested seems to work great so far, my thanks to you for drawing my attention to it (and thomthom for creating it). The texture distortion is acceptable, I'm just happy that I won't have to spend hours repeating the same tedious task for hundreds of faces. Thanks again.

Similar problems with Logitech drivers here on my WinXP system. To be fair, the support guys there are a helpful bunch, and they did put in a valiant effort, but they were unable to get me fixed up. I've been a trackball user for a long time now (more room on the desk for half-drunk coffee cups and ashtrays, he he!!). The 'Marble Mouse' I have is beautifully smooth to use and it has the extra buttons and (supposedly) driver support to emulate the middle button and scroller. Except that I have had nothing but problems getting it to work due to weird clashes with the driver for my (indispensable!) graphics tablet - so I am stuck with having to constantly switch tools, or get used to using a regular mouse again (oh my poor wrists!).

[image: O7jF_boatHull_A..png]Here is a concept that may work for you. Probably have two many points on the bezier splines. You choice on how you want the contour to look. Maybe you can get Fredo to include a real b spline curve in his tool

I actually think that you need to get to know SDS aka Artisan : http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=34868&hilit=artisan . Also for a extruding the edge you can use JPP joint push pull : http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=6708. Now depends on how your imagination works. Cheers!

It looks to be just that everything is a bit too small. SU has problems creating small or really big faces. I scaled it all up by a factor of 10 and it works fine, you can scale down afterwards and the faces will remain. [image: 0z2D_Corners.JPG]

I think the best strategy would be if you started right away and asked specific questions when you get stuck. Start small though and be prepared to start over (so you need not trash too much work). If there is anyting successful, you can always save pieces of your model as components.

If I understand your question right, you want the Intersect tool from the Solid Tools set. You'll need Pro for that.

No hassle Whaat has provided us with another great plugin http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=23725&hilit=plugin to help with UV mapping. It is a bit of fussing around, but apart from Blender, I am really not aware of any other (freeware) possibility of converting a .skp file into a .nif file.

@mitcorb said: Hi, xennon: Have a look at this thread. Maybe some relevance? http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=31947#p281905 Thanks, that's a nice plugin that might be useful. What I'd like to be able to do is enter Long/Lat/Date/Time and have the plugin either (or both) point a face to the sun or show how light from the sun is travelling and intersecting with a chosen face and beyond to the ground plane. This will allow me to orient a window so as to control where and how far the sun penetrates into a room/building. I'm guessing that the plugin might generate construction type lines extending out from the selected face towards the sun and back the other way towards the ground in such a way that I can kinda see the sun's rays in my scene. But i'll certainly be grabbing that plug u linked - looks handy.

@tig said: The 'Utility' tools that ship with SUp include 'Create Face' - you need to activate these from the Preferences > Extensions dialog; you then get an item under menu Tools > Utilities. Alternatively there are other tools... Try Plugins Index > 'AddFaces' [TIG] or http://www.smustard.com/script/MakeFaces [note you also need to get 'progressbar.rb' for this tool] thx.

Thank you Gaieus! I will zoom in and look for leaks. The hull was formed with a curved line on a flat plane and then "lathed" using "follow me" around a circle. Best, Jeff

Hello Box: That is a hugely impressive megaliner .... A virtual tour (such as the one featured in the link) would seem to represent a potentially most elegant solution to this problem. [The word "compromise" would seem somewhat harsh and inappropriate to use under these circumstances]. After all, I am indeed looking for any possible innovative options that could provide us with some much-needed functional "eye candy" to enhance our (presently somewhat graphic insipid) application .... Nevertheless, I still need someone to voluntarily assist us in compiling such a virtual tour - indeed possibly a somewhat more complex virtual tour than the one featured in the link .... Btw: What software was used to create that lovely (and highly functional) image?
