Using the Drape Tool

I'm trying to drape an outline on the an egg shape that I've made, so I can cut out part of the egg but the drape tool just doesn't work.
It shows the % progress bar at the bottom but there's no change to the model after it's finished.
I have included the file below to see in anyone can help me here.
