Use JointConnectTool, same that you used before. Click on the floor and press "CTRL" (Control)[Left], then press the hinge. Or you can start with the hinge (Ctrl-click) and then the floor, dosn't matter. /hpnisse

I am afraid that isn't right. Think of it this way. 1 is slow mo, 3 is normal speed and 6+ is fast forward. The framerate is the number of physics steps that happen before Sketchup displays the frame. A physics step is 1/60 of a second. The default is actually 3 and with it goes like this Advance physics simulation by 1/60 sec. Advance physics simulation by 1/60 sec. Advance physics simulation by 1/60 sec. Update Sketchup object positions. Advance physics simulation by 1/60 sec. Advance physics simulation by 1/60 sec. Advance physics simulation by 1/60 sec. Update Sketchup object positions. etc. if the framerate is 1 Advance physics simulation by 1/60 sec. Update Sketchup object positions. Advance physics simulation by 1/60 sec. Update Sketchup object positions. Advance physics simulation by 1/60 sec. Update Sketchup object positions. Advance physics simulation by 1/60 sec. Update Sketchup object positions. etc. Here is where it gets a bit tricky. By far the slowest part of this cycle is the Update Sketchup Object part. That means that the lower the framerate the slower the model appears to run even tho its actually running at the same speed as if you were using 3. With 3 you will just get more simulation time in the same number of real time seconds. Hope that helps. Chris

@magnetar said: It can..using it for Phoenix Flight Sim with a usb adaptor If it acts like a normal joystick and can be recognized by windows as a standard joystick, you should be able to get it to work. Take a look at this reference card and it will give you the controller commands for the axis you can use. http://www.scribd.com/doc/10966960/Sketchy-Physics-Controller Good Luck!

@camokid11 said: also, try make a box first and try the UI on that first. it might work. try that before reinstalling anything, or trying my previous advice. A small test a small test to see if ontick does work, just put this script into the ontick field if key('space')==1;UI.messagebox("This script works!");end start the simulation and press space and a message should come up. Found out what it was. It was teh EXE install of sketchyPhysics I was having troubles with. I did the zip file and it worked perfectly. Sorry for the late update, but if anyone else has the issue, I wanted to make sure they find a resolution. Oh, and YES, the code you posted above does work. So, it's not that the code wasn't running, I just couldn't get access to it with the EXE install I was used via the UI panel. Weird, but it's working, and that's all I need Joe

sorry to ask help from you. I use Sketchup 7.0 free ver. downloaded sketchyphysics3 RC1 (windows installer, Jun2009). when i use "joint connector", the screen show "Requires SketchyPhysics3 RC1". The "joint Connector" just can't joint the Hinge & other component. do i need to load any other files to plugin?

it seems that i have solved it. i uninstalled sketchup and removed the folder. then reinstalled and downloaded the .exe file instead of the zip file. the ui works fine now but the ruby functions still seem a little iffy.

I located the folder with the SP joints and such, opened the hinge in SketchUp and added a line going out in front and in back of the little blue "x". Went back and checked, and now my hinges have axles. Need to do the same with the servo and motor. Thanks.

you either: use a breaking joint and play with the settings to so it breaks at the right amount of force you need. or make a system with interlocking parts that come apart when yu hit it hard enough.

Hey Chris: I am having problems with the Linear Damping on objects. Some C++ Sketchup script is terminating Sketchup after a number of frames whenever I have it running. It has something to do with Runtime. Do you know what might be happening? Thanks in advance, Chris EDIT: It only happens when I set Linear Damping before altering gravity.

Thanks Barack for working on the model. Turns nicely. I wanted to know how to put three images on the prism faces easily and how to simulate a control panel knob in the model. Any ideas?

@unknownuser said: @barack said: Easy way:If you have Sp3 RC1, you could use a fixed joint connected to a hinged table. Just to clarify, there is a later revision than SP3 RC1. I believe it's SketchyPhysics 3x-Jun27 (or so the install file is named). I know. But Chris says it is a bit buggy, so for now, I'll stick with the stable.

Well, I just think the computer is normal again. I removed Spyware doctor when I saw the installer for Windows Defender, and I think it saved the load on the computer. It had nothing to do with groups, as it could already connect to non-grouped objects. i no longer have to import from SP2! WOOHOO!

@camokid11 said: That is amazing, really nice work. How good is your computer to be able to do that? It's not about how good, it's about how long. I can't imagine how long the beginning animation was.

Thanks, I realize that I can set the dimension and sides for a cicle and then make a cylinder but what I would like to know is if it can be done using the cylinder tool.
