@nlipovac said: @tomankubik said: Hi guys, Im Sketchup user almost 14 years...mostly on Windows, now Version 2020 Pro + Vray 5 + D5 render... But I have bought new Apple M1 chip Macbook Air 2020, the base config with 8GB RAM...honestly I Have to say thats great with Sketchup /no issues and almost fast as my win-workstation/ but my question was...what about reder.... VRAY 5 works well /I did maybe 10 test renders of my old scenes.../ nothing heavy, almost now issues /I had to work aournd with Fur-grass setup a bit/ and I have tested Twilight render....and it works...and works great / I was searching for something fast to produce renders on Macbook Air beacuse seems like Im leaving Vray after 10 years and switching to D5 render/ Hope these infos are helpful for someone I was roaming around D5 renderer but I came across here that it uses new RTX Nvidia cards for rendering and since I will wait some more time to get a reasonable price on 3090. https://www.yuque.com/d5render/ra7gmc/zve62y So, on new M1 silicon there are no RTX and Nvidia options at all, how will you utilize renderer? Well D5 render is Nvidia based, RTX is not necesity but really good to have. I was working on RTX 2060 with 6GB and it was enough for my purpose /stills max 4K/ and the rendertimes was maximum 2minutes per image.... but when you are aiming for long 4K videos its better to go for RTX 3.... series, but the problem is that is really out of stock now... Now is my setup MAcbook Air for daily work /web, emails, CAD drawings in Draftsight, modeling in Sketchup, quick preview renders in Vray or Twilight/ and when I need to work on archviz I turn on win workstation and run D5 render... but now its maybe once a week or so...

The 21" iMac would be a good choice also check out the refurbished Macs on your local apple site and from your local Mac resellers. They normally give a 12 month warranty with the refurbs also

Toman, you didn't specify what the age group is for the youths. For children, I think it's a bit too sterile, and I wonder if the people silhouettes aren't too abstract for them. Every bookstore (or area) I've seen that caters to children is filled with colors and cartoon images. I think the concept might appeal to teenagers, however. I do think your falling into a trap, though, that a lot of designers do in that your ignoring point-of-sale - retailers are going to put up displays for sales, new merchandise, etc. If you ignore that during design, you might not be to pleased with the end result.

@solo said: The renders look very clean and crisp (Vray is great at this)I also like the camera positions. Being married to a CKD (certified kitchen designer) I have developed a keen eye for kitchen design and to me it looks like an Ikea kitchen kit that the contractor who installed it used the existing plumbing and electrical locations and installed accordingly. thanks solo, I love your job and its great for Sketchup community to have you here. well the design is limited because: developer of the block of flats gave us limit 3000 euro per kitchen /the project is something like http://www.rnc.sk/ I got a sketch from the manufacturer of kitchen cabinets, so the design has to be simple and easy to bulid, because this use to be something like "standard"kitchen for everybody /the kitchen is in the price of apartment in this case I was not allowed to move the plumbings...exactly as you said Thanks again, any critics will help PS. sorry for english

If you don't use the added extra that come with Pro then you've answered your own query. But I do think it merits purchasing from the point if view that the day you need those features you'll tear your hair out. As for rendering choice, this seems to grow everyday and everyone has an opinion. It will boil sown to cost and your user level. My recommendation would be Thea Render as it's cross platform, 64bit and very very very good. But that's just me. If it's some integrated into SU I would suggest TwiLight.
