Does this kind of event ever happen in Europe? Travelling all the way to America seems a bit crazy, just to rub shoulders with At Last...whoops Google!

Btw, I've got excellent connections at Warwick University!

Oooh! A Solidworks importer??
How about a Solidworks exporter??!
Or even just SAT?
How do you manage not to blind yourself with the laser?
It's only designers who seem to get so anal about animation. Most people I show my work to are still quite amazed by SU's animation.
I'm sorry HFM, but I don't see this as spam at all. It's on topic, so what's your problem?
All I assume Al is doing is making sure that more people who may hang out in a different part of the forum (which is often the case), get to see a new SketchUp plugin.
Al, I'm not offended.
Tom
Great stuff jo-ke!
I need to have a go at this too.
That's very odd! You look like a giant boiled sweet!
I just want SU to be more of a CAD application. That would do me fine. (And of course to include every single brilliant plugin made to date including sketchy physics etc etc
).
Together we can smash the 3DS Max machine!
Yes I think so, except one thing, they all cost a lot more!
I was really impressed by the quality of "The Elements" app for the iPad. I'd love to get that kind of quality- and in colour too!
I don't know if this has been posted before, but I recently came across this excellent online tutorial on how to do 3D Scanning on the cheap. The programme is quite long, but well worth the watch- especially when the Linux (?) penguin gets imported into SketchUp!

If anyone knows if there is a similar application to that of 'David' (funny name!), that works on Mac OSX, please tell us!.

The whole job never saw a CAD program
SketchUp is so ace isn't it? I often go off looking for others, but always return to SU!
I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but it's a classic case of "Must backup everything".
I too learnt my lesson the hard way- by backing up on to cheap DVD's that no drive can access any longer.
I do hope you recover your files leedeetee.
Have a chance to reflect on the game now, has left me to conclude that I think the ref was a little hard on Dutch players. I mean there has that foot in the chest moment, which was a bit crass, but look how many got the yellow card, for nothing really more than a tackle or two?
I recently read quite a good article by Mick Hume from UK's Spiked.org about the final match;

The main reason for the record number of yellow and red cards handed out was that Webb β of whom we are all apparently supposed to be patriotically proud - is an officious prig, as one might expect, given he is a sergeant in the South Yorkshire police.
(more here; http://www.spiked-online.com/index.php/site/article/9188/)
There. The ref. A copper! No wonder he delbt a record amount of yellow cards. Can't help himself!
We got a new world team, but after how long? Right at the end of extra time after no goals at all? What a dull final!
Nice one Jon! I love little houses (despite that I'm built myself like a brick shithouse!
).
Did you use SketchUp throughout?
Congrats Spain! Well deserved. You were far the better side, and you 100% deserve the 2010 world cup!
It just occurred to me, if Germany failed to score, it just proves how utterly schiesse England actually were this time round!!

I'd like to be wrapped in a compost bag, with a whole load of tomato plants embedded in my rotting body, and for the fruits of those plants to be consumed by other human beings! Then I should stand a better chance of being part of humanity again, rather than becoming a fly or a worm!

There's been a few deaths in my family recently, from MS and Alzheimers. My brother in law, who is only 62 has advanced stages of Alzheimer's as well. And I thought cancer was a horrible way to go? Watching your loved ones turn into a lump of meaningless putty is devastating. Can we change the subject??
