Call me thick, but I can't appear to get this working. Should the plug-in be situated in the root or user directory? I went back to 7.0 btw, because I was having a few more 7.1 problems.

RE: Bing vs Google
Bing imho just looks and feels like Yahoo, and then there is all that Hotmail and MSN rubbish at the top of the screen too.
I just did a search for Youtube on Bing, and it gave me an alternative, and nothing but. Being a (mainly) Macuser, I suppose I am a little biased though? -
RE: Sketchup 7.1 bugs
Just thought I'd add, that trashing the preferences in Mac OS X, has cured quite a few upgrade 'problems'. I don't know how one would go about this though in Windows. Sorry.

RE: PSYSTAR ... still going with cheap 'Macs'?
I used to think that it must have been Dell who were funding Psystar, but after this latest move, I can't help feeling now that it is Steve Ballmer & Microsoft pushing this.
You have to remember that a Mac is a 'product' NOT necessarily a PC as such (although it is!). While PC's are quite capable of running OS X, you miss out on the elegance of an Apple product- and lets face it, Apple's products do look wonderful don't they? I was a big Dieter Rams/ Braun fan too you know

I use DoubleCad XT whenever I have to edit .dwg files.
DoubleCAD is really nice, but only if you only use Windows. I swear by Ribbonsoft's QCad, which although only uses (for the moment anyway) DXF files, works wonderfully with SketchUp and is multiplatform (Linux, Windows, Mac etc). So though is StreamCAD, which has been coded by a disgruntled ex-Autodesk employee (read the fun story on the website; http://www.streamspace.com/). StreamCAD is also freeware for the time being.
For a few dollars more.....and for Mac only users, ilexsoft's HighDesign is really, really good, and many on their forum tend to use both HD and SU together.

If you have a registered copy of bonzai3d, you can update this by going to bonzai3d's Help Menu and selecting Check for Update. Note that with Snow Leopard compatibility, we re-gain 3D Warehouse support on OS X as 3D Warehouse no longer supports OS X 10.5.
I just got this sent from AutoDesSys today, apparently according to these guys, 3D Warehouse only supports Snow Leopard? Surely not? It seems to be working here- I'm still on Leopard.

RE: Placed image disappears from face. Why?
Fixed it.
If I extrude the face by a cm or two, then apply the texture, it works. Then using the push/pull tool, push the face back to it's original height/ position.

RE: Placed image disappears from face. Why?
Hi
Now it is jumping to adjacent faces!!
Do you no how can I stop this?

RE: Placed image disappears from face. Why?
Hi Gaieus
There is an opposing face, but it has yet to have a texture added. As I said, I had to rebuild the form to get it to work- and interestingly on the rebuild, there was no opposing face. Do you think this is a bug?
Tom
edit; I should just say that the image does NOT move to any adjacent face. -
Placed image disappears from face. Why?
Can anyone help? This is driving me crazy!
Occasionally when applying a photo (as a texture) to a face, selecting the bottom left hand corner, and dragging up, until I hit the vertex or whatever, sometimes the image will disappear. Why does SketchUp do this? I've got round the problem by simply drawing and identical model next to an existing one, and repeating the sketch until it works.
Hardly productive.
Any suggestions on how to avoid this behaviour?

I attempted to answer your other post. "I think you're mis-understanding angle snap", Barry snapped.
Yes, I probably am. I need to spend some more time with the manual (well Aidan Chopra's manual. Absolutely Brilliant Aidan! ). It's crazy but I trained using Solidworks, but I'm finding relearning SketchUp a bit of a tough one!! (probably because there is no history).
We're getting there
Thanks for the reply, Barry.

RE: Sketchup 7.1 bugs
Sorry for repeating this (I mentioned it within a post on keying in length- which appears to be buggy too),
I'm drawing a line out from a corner at a 45ΒΊ angle, but I've got no angle snap (despite changing the model info preferences between different angle snap sizes). Sometimes the snap will work, but most of the time, I'm there pulling my hair out trying to get it to snap to something. I don't remember having this problem before.
Anyone else seeing or finding this?
(Macbook Pro 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo 2, 3 gigs ram, ATI Radeon X1600)
Tom
PS I'm also repeating the parallel projection bug, as mentioned earlier too. This is also really frustrating!! I want to upgrade to Pro, and I've got the money too, but these little things always make me put my credit card away again. And if I go back to using (ie reinstall) SU7, then how can I find these bugs? (and I pick up the previous bugs too!). Software should work when it is sold- not half work. This is not good.

for some reason on Mac, it does and then doesn't accept input.
Hi. My name is Tom, I'm new to the forum.
Just want to add, that I'm repeating the same problem here (it is driving me nuts). Choose the pencil tool, draw a line, then key in the length or just key in length after choosing the tool, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
As well as the refusal to accept data on occasions, I've also go a similar problem with angle snapping from a point, using the pencil tool, where snapping will work momentarily (usually only once), then disappears/ stops working.
Both of these bugs are very frustrating.
Also, If you could also increase the size of the data input window (for length), I often find that when working in centimetres or millimetres, the string is so long, the numbers get lost, and I only see the last few.
