Neither, wait a few months, there will be much more choices like the new Asus transformer, the new Windows 8 tab and a new Vizio.

With 64 bit you will be able access to more memory, so you will be able to render higher resolution images and higher poly models. i7 processors are multithreaded and Windows will see 8 cores, so Vray see's 8 cores and you will get 8 render buckets. I found that my i7 renders at least twice as fast if not more than my last workstation which was a high end Xeon. I cant imagine that SU will be slower in a 64 bit environment. I was using 32 bit Photoshop for the longest time and when I went to 64 bit it was night and day. Much faster and more responsive, even it its just an illusion because I access to more memory.

with all the recovery programs there outside, i got some sketchup fies recovery by using Photorec. The best thing about it? Its free... the bad thing? Its slow.....real real slow. I just dont get it that files recovered nowadays have enumerated file names instead of the old ones before that the files recovered are close to the names originally named like pcshell before in dos format. Anyway i hope i helped someone out there also in their bumpy journey of recovering files.... ciao. tesmeko

Its unlikely to make much of a difference in overall performance. The only areas it will really help in are RAM intensive stuff like rendering (large scenes especially), modelling in a program that supports 64 bit and perhaps image/video editing.

Pete, nice hut....yeah thats the one.....how did you do it for sketchup? or do we need render engines to amplify (or bump) the texture so it would look realistic and not flat? Tesmeko

I see, you were reffering to demo restriction. Yes, demo is limited to 500x500 output.

I am questioning the same thing right now, I want to Crossfire.... Except I am looking at ATI HD 4870. They are the best bang for your buck video card out right now.

I like the "feel" of this project. I do agree that it needs some more detail to really make it stand out. From the angle you shot the image from does not help the lack of detail either though. Maybe some images from ground level with some added detail would give more insight into the project. Good work! Scott

The house itself was hand drawn. Rendring was done in Photoshop. I was hoping to post a larger image like everybody else is doing but when I upload it was only asking me to have 800x800 pixels and not more than 256k of size. I must admit its not very nice up close. Its better to look at it a far.... Anyway thanks to all the feedback and comments. Hope to do more soon. Tesmeko

Hi Modelhead, Im kinda familiar with your name, didnt you just had an avatar or picture of a rear baldman's head? Well this is my family and thank you for your comment. I just have to crop it so it could fit in the requirement of the being sqaure. Thats my wife and my baby girl, the big one is my niece and the one cropped is suppose to be my nephew. I like that picture so much, we were playing around with my brand new laptop back then. I like warm families. Thats the reason I dont work on saturdays. Saturdays are for family (or friends, relatives or sometimes just spending time for yourself), Sundays are resting & reflections, so Im fueled for the incoming weekdays again. I dont encourage this to everyone, im still a workaholic but Id like to suppress that "holic" thing just up to friday 11:59pm. Its not perfect because there are times that I have to work extra hard for the weekends for a presentation and deadlines...... Try it for a week or two....then see for yourself.... but like I said also, its not for everyone.... and f.y.i., the picture was taken on a saturday evening while were watching a disney movie. happy weekends. Tesmeko please have a comment or two on my render. I badly need assistance. I cant show these to my clients.

Thanks you all who viewed my collection. To Ross: Yes Im an Architect by profession and I do this for a living but for 5 years I think Im still a Neophyte. I would need a lot of PR (not just talent and a good computer ) to be successful in this industry. Almost all of the churches you saw are free from my charges because these are the structures that I could really experiment the some hidden powers or abilities of skecthup and most especially if im just going around killing time. Although most of the preists appreciate my works as well. Thank you for all the very kind words replied. I really appreciate it. To tell you guys the truth, I never had the patience to wait for a photorealistic renderings (but i will still dip in my foot if I ever find time to play around like christmas season), you could just see it that I only use photoshop and sketchup. All realtime. Dave's watercolor style really rocks i'll tell you \m/ . Someday I might play around also styles and share it as well. I hope you all enjoy viewing! Tesmeko keep sketching
